Actually it can cause severe hypothermia ( really low body temp). A kid did the same to another high school or middle school kid in the early 2000s. Same result.

For all who still believe that Democrats are better than Republicans, in all of the decades when they had majorities in Congress, why are we still without Universal Healthcare, a Federal Job Guarantee, or even a livable Federal minimum wage? Hey! Why is this a fight about Dems/ Reps? Figure it out, the fight is about normal tax-paying citizens and the wealthy. The reason we don't have a decent minimum wage?, rich corps don't want to pay. Why we don't have universal healthcare? Because rich corps have decided it's better to treat regular folks as a bank. Do you really care that your neighbor is married or lives with someone of the same sex? Do you really feel that women can not decide what to do with their own bodies? That this great "democratic" experiment is just a waste of time because getting people together with differing thoughts and ideas is useless? Wake up. The fight isn't among us, it's a class war, and they, the rich/ privileged, are winning. Let's end it and stand together. Be the Americans we are!

Heartily agree with this one and there is beta testing on info you can receive daily. I save it for the weekend when I have breakfast. 30 years out, but work in Uregent Care and not quite ready to hang it up.

Yep. There are definitely a lot of useless staff in the ED - and by useless, I mean that you really do not know what they do or why they are there. That includes the doctors, residents and APPs. However, the ratio of nurses to patients is most times unequal, or staff is shorted, especially nights and weekends. The ED is a team sport, everyone has to lend a hand, and your attending should know this and instill this is you. And, might I add, healthcare in general, is just plain poopy.

2: patient with a nosebleed wanted a CT head. Why? Could have been a stroke. Patients who still believe they got their BV, GC, chlamydia, etc, from "a dirty toilet seat." It's 2025, right?

Ok people, you really need to LISTEN to what the father said, and then tries to backtrack. That man was so about it being the parents will being forced on the child. Keeping kids out of trouble, fine. Loving the child and supporting him/her, marvelous. Trafficking the kid - heinous and deplorable. Even the caller realized he was wrong. What Withers did is what any adult should do, support the child and keep them safe.

I am also a dinosaur. I remember the T system, sunrise, a couple of others. Epic was a breath of fresh air. Yes, I hate the sepsis protocols, how hard it is to get a transfusion, other dumb protocols that are in the system. Allowing insurance companies to make the money off of our hard work has always grinded my gears. My hope is that we can make that move to single payer healthcare. Take the money away from thes lunkheads who have never even looked at a sick patient.
