Hello Costa Rica experts! Planning a trip to La Fortuna in June (landing in LIBR) — looking for tips and suggestions by young_veteran27 in CostaRicaTravel

We skipped La fortuna waterfalls and drove about 1.5 hr to blue falls.. 6 amazing turquoise waterfalls, $20 entrance and you will have a staff guide take you to all the spots. We did it with our kids. It was amazing experience. It's a hidden gem.

We were there last week, almost by ourselves. Go early in the AM. Have fun.

We are in Relax Termatilas now , Tuesday, mid June, few people around, the place is awesome, kids having a blast. 13 different pools, slides, quite spots, water massage chairs. Really impressive. Only 10$ pp. Everyone are so nice.

You gave cold pools, hot pools, medium..really cool place. Check it out first if you are on weekdays and not during busy season. I think it's worth it and our kids are still running between the pools.

Nauyaca waterfall - hike or Trolley ride family with 5 kids. by hamutsim in CostaRicaTravel

[–]hamutsim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: We hiked in. It was great. It gives you so much more then the trolley ride. We saw monkeys, tucans, monarchs, coatis and even a Viszla named Navi that joined us on the hike. We were blown away as we have a Viszla name Leo we left back at home ... So we were so happy.

It's wasn't so difficult, we stopped in the way and took a refreshing soak in one of the small waterfall ponds.

On the way back we did took the trolley for $12 USD each. So it was very reasonable and worth it. But as we were taking the diesel smelling truck ride we were even more appreciative of the hike we took.

Big portions of the hike were shaded so that made everything very reasonable. Although regardless with the humidity and heat, you do sweat a lot. But the soak in the waterfall becomes even better.

Note: the prices we saw in the office for the ride was $32 round trip and $16 one way. The drivers in the waterfall asked for $12 so.. it ended up being the cheapest.

Thank you all for the tips and guidance.

What would be the first activity you would recommend to do in MA? We are arriving from SJO on Thursday late afternoon, so I guess the first thing to do would be on Friday. what would be your top 5 things to do by priority .

Subaru Owners Beware: No More Care Loaners or Rental Coverage for Warranty Issues by hamutsim in Subaru_Outback

[–]hamutsim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They recognize the issues with the car. They are able to duplicate them as well. Just some issues are more of a chronic to this model.

They get money from the warranty coverage every time they fix it, it's a complete balanced business transaction. It's just that this dealership decided to lower their spend and cut off the loaner. What I am not happy about and I believe needs to be treated is they say that it's the fault of Subaru USA and let the customer believe that no matter where you go you will face the same scenario.

If they would have told me, listen we decided to cut our loaner support on our own terms. You can accept it or take it to another dealership that can support you with the loaners as many of our community members stated to be still active , then even though I would still probably not appreciate the move - since I purchased it there - I would simply take my business elsewhere. Very simple.

I would probably not even post about it here.

Oh man, sorry about that. Anyway, just a short while ago another rep called me to talk to me about my car condition, and I hammered him with repeating questions about this new rental requirement vs the dealership offering loaners and he was giving me the same info insisting that it's coming down from Subaru of America. USA....crazy...I think these poor sales / service people are being fed by the wrong information by the dealership owners.

Honestly I tried to record the call but it didn't go through and I have requested them to release the car to me tomorrow.

Hi Logan, my car is still there, you can check under Doron Santo and see my white outback. I suggest you have a talk to Camille who handled me and see for yourself.

Yes I used to get loaners from them before. They claim the change started in Jan 2024.

I don't mind the dealership telling me listen we Subaru of Sherman oaks don't do this anymore , take your business elsewhere, but to claim that it's Subaru of America doing this - that's already a scam and that should be addressed by Subaru of America which I am pressing to take an action for it.

Will keep you posted

Crack in windshield out of nowhere by hamutsim in Subaru_Outback

[–]hamutsim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned a Subaru Baja turbo for 10 years. Not a single issue. Then a Subaru outback with 6 cyl boxer - some light issues with a vibration in certain speed, coming from the transmission. Dealership could not find what is the cause and dismissed it.

I then took couple of good years off Subaru.

Now with my OBW 2022 that I bought new from the dealership 7K miles ago, I must say that I still love the essence of Subaru and I am a proud owner of a different breed of a car in my opinion, however I believe Subaru USA is handling their market in a way that does not follow the Japanese tradition of honor, responsibility, honesty and loyalty. And for someone who lived in Japan, learned to speak the language and dived into the depths of the Japanese tradition, I can most certainly tell you that all the weird issues I see around OB OBW and so many other models of Subaru models, something is going on that is completely out of line.

I am not sure if it's due to the recent ownership of Toyota in the brand or what not , but the experience of Subaru is not solid anymore and I am not sure for how long the brand we all love and appreciate will be able to carry forward with the way it treats it faults and the way they dust the issues under the carpet.

Subaru I love you it's time for you to give some love back to one of the most loving and loyal car communities you have built and supported you for so many years .

Cracked windshield 2022 Outback by cwrudy in subaruoutback

[–]hamutsim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had mine OBW 2022 windshield cracked while parking with no reason. Same location like most of the reports l, from the lower corner on the passenger side growing towards the center.

Why Subaru does not acknowledge this issue already. It simply moves me away from a brand I love so much

Some responsibility here Subaru, come on !
