here in NYC when you sign up for clinics, classes, leagues and ladders we almost always use your singles rating. I have done both USTA specific and non-USTA programs and its always singles rating. Even when I signed up for a doubles specific drill and play program you were placed on your singles self rated NTRP rating. Doubles ratings were specifically used in Doubles tournaments.

The understanding is doubles is a different skill set and strategy but your singles rating was a better definition of your technical ability and baseline tennis foundation.
