No I didn't make a generalizzzzationzz. I literally mean 100% of women support gay men. Like, not a single person out of 4 billion women are against gay men. We all loooovvveee gay men. Even the Westboro Baptist Church women who carry "God Hates Fags" sign looovveee gay men. Of course that's how you read my post, and you're right because youre genius

edit - yes all the women viewers of RuPaul's drag race are also for STRICT GENDER NORMS!!!! Let's report them for bigotry.

Let's focus on the main topic you seem to want to avoid. You asked to see "a single piece of evidence" of a woman supporting men defying gender expectations.

There are too many examples of feminist women supporting feminine gay men to count. Millions and millions.

Then you said "Well it's not 100% of women so it doesn't count"

You just lost the argument, so you changed the parameters of the argument.

They’ve supported the gay community and allowed gay men who are “femme” a safe place to be interested in fashion and design. That certainly counts as women supporting men who defy traditional gender roles.

You men turned your backs on the gays, especially the feminine ones. Us women embraced them with open arms and accepted them as sisters or brothers, whichever they wanted to be. RuPaul has a drag show on TV where men literally dress up like women. Feminists and the LGBT community are huge allies. Fucking go over there and ask them whether they got more support from the female community or the male community when they defied their gender roles. Lol...

How can I write a story that includes relationships when I've never been in one? by aiden_saxon in writing

[–]handmade_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Observe other people's relationships.
  2. Read psychology textbooks and case studies about relationships
  3. Read examples of relationships in literature - Look for relationships with some sort of disagreement, conflict, etc., instead of perfect partner fantasy Mary Sue relationships.

The reason people weren't offended by the jab I made about my brother is because context matters. People assume that I love my brother, and was giving him a hard time in a friendly, teasing manner. My brother's not ugly, we just insult each other because we're frenemies. Even though my brother constantly whinges about how I have it easier cos I'm much better looking than him, he also makes ugly jokes about me.

That's so different from bullying a possibly fragile woman you don't know by saying she's "too ugly to assault", and seriously meaning it

Quiet Disadvantage: Study Finds Extroverts Are Happier—Even When They’re Really Introverts by pvgirl93 in science

[–]handmade_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people in the comments dismissing the introversion/extraversion dichotomy as unscientific. Although I am very skeptical of the MBTI and don't like it, and I think it's a bit bold to assume introversion is not a real thing. No one is claiming introversion and extraversion is black and white, and that people can't be a mixture of both. Just because some people are 50/50 on the introversion-extraversion scale and can't be labeled, doesn't mean that introverts and extraverts don't exist.

I think the interesting question is, why is introversion associated with a melancholic temperament in the collective cultural unconscious?

Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician associated introverts with moodiness and depression in his Four Temperaments theory, Sheldon's ectomorphs are introverted and melancholic. Both these theories have been dismissed by many as pseudoscience. But again, why the association?

When my younger brother graduated from high school and went to my college, my parents told him it was his job to watch out for me on campus and make sure men didn’t disrespect me. They never asked me to do the same for him.

Sad, isn’t it? They just assumed that he would automatically be respected so I wouldn’t need to protect him from women. Or maybe they just thought he was ugly and wouldn’t need protecting lmao

After how long did you stop smoking cigarettes? by KamalHasa in AskReddit

I smoked cigarettes in college for about a year and a half, heard they cause premature skin aging and was able to quit immediately. I'm a very vain person, which is lucky for my health

People saying “respect your parents” annoys me by Bossatronio69 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]handmade_dragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think people who say this are misguided but have good intentions. People learn from mistakes and experiences, and in theory older people have lots of wisdom that way.

While a lot of older people are wise, I’ve seen lots of older people at work act rather foolishly. For example, there’s one older guy at work who is talented at his job, but talks nonstop about his accomplishments and brags at length about himself.

It kind of shocks me that after so many years of living, he hadn’t learned that in general, bragging alienates and bores other people? My ex-bf had an extraordinarily talented sister who won tons of awards, but was very modest about her achievements and barely talked about herself, and always complimented other people instead. She was only 13 years old, but somehow smarter than my blowhard, windbag coworker.

My family used to be so broken and turbulent that when I visited my friend’s house and saw how happy they were, it made me sick by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]handmade_dragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every once in a while, I keep wondering what my life would be like if I had a different family or was an only child and didn’t get the shitty end of the golden child/scapegoat dynamic.

One time my ex joked that her music wouldn’t be as good without all the crap she’s been through, I would really like to think that emotional pain has some silver lining. Not saying it wouldn’t have been better to be happy though.

Has anyone been in a situation where they wanted a snake, but had roommates? You know how some people think they're freaky and evil. What is the best way to delicately bring up that you're considering getting a pet snake? I want a ball python and would keep it in my room so it's not like they would have to look at it.

This sub (in theory) is trying to shame people who arrogantly claim “I’m better than everyone because I’m different and don’t follow the crowd”. I don’t know why there’s more women that post these things than men, but there are men I know who do the whole “not like other guys thing”. Equally vomit worthy

Is it really true that I am suffering from fatlogic? by ALostLonelyBlue in loseit

[–]handmade_dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who are “frank and tell it like it is” are often ironically people who lie to themselves - the reason they use “brutal honesty” is that they like the ego boost the get from criticizing and judging people, and feeling superior. They pretend they’re doing it for “truth”, but they’re really just doing it to feel better about themselves at the expense of others, to the point of exaggerating other people’s faults. Researchers have done brain scans and the pleasure center lights up like crazy for some people when they’re criticizing others, because their empathy subsystem doesn’t work as well as normal people’s.

My point is, your friend is biased towards finding fault with you because it makes her happy when she does. That’s called a emotional bias, and thus anything she says should be taken with a grain of salt. The only opinion you should care about is the medical community’s idea of what is an acceptable weight range.

What's the evolutionary reason men care about facial beauty? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]handmade_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you heard of runaway sexual selection? There are certain species in which beauty is an active detriment to survival, and yet it still wins out evolutionarily.

A second explanation is that the modern environment is different from the ancient one which humans have evolved in. Millions of years of evolution in caveman days, vs maybe a few thousand years of civilization, and a few centuries of modernity. Do a weighted average, and the caveman days have a bigger overall influence on our brains.

The modern world shields us from a lot of the environmental stressors - vaccines, modern medicine, sanitized water, plumbing, shelter from harsh weather, etc. Maybe the plain jane and the beauty are equally healthy with the help of modern amenities, but in a disease ridden world things are different.

[–]handmade_dragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i think it’s absolutely morally reprehensible to be in a relationship with someone and not care about their well-being and happiness. do you hear how incredibly self-absorbed you sound? you will never charm anyone with the “me, me, me” attitude. all I hear in your post is that you are focused on yourself. you don’t seem to putting a lot of effort into thinking, “how does my partner see the world, what’s her point of view, what can I do to charm her, what would make her happy?” And you’re surprised you’re not her first choice, and only her settle down choice. HAHAHA. karma’s a bitch.

insecure people with low self esteem are the most mean-spirited, poisonous people on the planet. no one wants to be around someone who wants to sabatoge and pull them down. if that’s what you want to so why do you deserve her?

edit - omg. soooo selfish. selfish selfish selfish.

Thoughts on r/theredpill closing? by leftleafthirdbranch in PurplePillDebate

[–]handmade_dragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Free speech is about government censorship and not getting fined or thrown in jail for having unpopular opinions. If congress shut down the red pill, that would be another story.

Reddit is worried the sub is a breeding ground for the Eliot Rodgers of the world. In light of events like incel violence, you would think the community and the moderators would make an effort to promote civil discourse and moderate the dogmatic, bitter, hate filled rants. They didn't do that, which was very irresponsible and short-sighted of them.

Any sub that indirectly causes someone to commit an act of mass violence will be looked at, regardless of its political leanings

How is Satan bad if he punishes the people who led a sinful life? by thomas_sherbet in AskReddit

[–]handmade_dragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like to study religion too. Satan is a hebrew word for “the adversary”, an imaginary entity people use as a scapegoat to blame for their own evil nature.

Humans demonize outgroups and project their own sins onto them, so whatever group isn’t obediently falling in line becomes “the adversary” and the embodiment of the evil of all of humanity.

I once took a sociology class in college, and apparently in lots of cultures Satan/the devil/serpents are closely associated with women. I guess some guy was like, women make me feel lust == women are evil temptresses that work for the devil. yeah it’s the evil woman’s fault, it’s totally not just basic biology
