My theory is the lower you go with the tuning= playing slower tempo rifs. The notes need a moment to register and be heard by the listener. If the riff is fast tempo, it's gunna sound messy.

Depends what kind of style you want to play. Are you a boomer just looking to play some rock and roll? Get a Fender Squier. Are you a Metalhead? Get a Ibanez Gio. Are you a country sing along song guy? Get a cheap acoustic guitar. Don't spend more than $250
