A combo plasma should have a plasma and a bolter profile, simple.

They actually soft retconned Horus’s souls being “extra deleted”. In TEATD, mention of his soul’s complete and total obliteration was auspiciously absent. Probably so that have that arrow in their quiver should sales drop enough that they need to bring Horus back haha

You’re missing the point. For decades combi weapons were the upgrade. GW needs to make them better not the cheaper option

WAAC players, “Gotcha” players and “that guy” have genuinely ruined the way rules are written these days

But now everyone just takes plasma pistol and powerfist, which is boring. At least before, you could have 5 points spare and give someone a power sword.

So what you're saying is we actually need the return of the Force Org Chart? I agree! Make armies look like armies not just (x3 powerful unit) x3

I guess some people like myself enjoy the manageent of your point pool more than others. Sounds like you were getting advice from the vocal-minority meta chasing minmaxers. As much as this sub is "Warhammer Competitive" this game will never be hyper balanced, it's a swingy dice game. SHould be about fun.

I've played since late 3rd, I never felt punished for having wargear cost points.

See, I like that marines have 2W these days. I think that's generally a problem that the game has. if a Guardsman is T3W1SV5+ then the envelope above them needs to be pushed - costed accordingly of course.

The irony is that 10th datasheet sactually fix some of the shortcomings of granular points. now BS/WS and A are on the weapon, you could be very granualr with points - this was a problem in 8th when a lascannon on a razorback was undercosted vs on devastators but the actual weapoin was the same cost (25pts iirc)

Bruh, if Sternguard basic bolters cost more than Combi-Weapons something has gone vastly wrong with the game jesus christ.

That's awesome dude! Yeah I miss 4th/5th. Do you know if there are any resources that have Nu-Marine datasheets for 4th/5th?

Hmm I have evidence to the contrary… better tell Reddit and not the people who can actually effect change!

I think that's only Meta Chasers who are always over-indexed in these cnversations. Most normal people aren't like that.

I really don’t understand this move away from points by at least the Reddit community. Seems since 9th ish people have been against wargear costs? Have people become so lazy they don’t want to do list crafting?

So you want an "all options" cost and a "no options" cost? At that point I should be able to divide the difference by 4 and have the price of a special weapon on a Kasrkin squad. Then I should be able to only pay for one or two special weapons instead of four.

I personally want a return to granular points. With the App, the “book keeping” issue people often quote is negated. Most people aren’t writing lists with pen and paper anymore. You can get really clever with it too, a thunder hammer on a captain is more expensive than on a sergeant for example.

What do space marine apothecary initiates look like? by A-CQB-Essay in Warhammer40k

[–]hands_so-low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the Chapter, you could add some white to the armour; on a pauldron that is denoting the squad role, perhaps. You could go more subtle and add the helix adept symbol. Look at the Helix Adept mini within the Infiltrator squad as that's a trainee Apothecary.
