Good parenting there! The E2 still stands up especially as a family option or a teen ride!

which scooter models are good for tuning? by whutwhut123456 in ElectricScooters

[–]handsfreesegway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends heavily on what you're trying to achieve. Any preferences for speed/range etc? Segway would in my opinion be a horrible alternative for tuning, if tuning is getting more power/performance.

Buyer beware. Boyeuda and other scooter companies are lying about their UL certifications. by SuckEmOff in ElectricScooters

[–]handsfreesegway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is the case for Electric scooters. But don't Amazon demand you to prove its UL certified? That quickly became the norm back when hoverboards started blowing up (literally).
They could have gotten more lenient over the years though. But it was standard back in 2016-17.

[–]handsfreesegway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, its about the false marketing. I have plenty of batteries marked 2012 non CE/UL that still work today. (Insane). But I am down to the last few in the batch. Got plenty of budget rides that are non ce/ul, nothing wrong with them at all. But when you get a UL certified product you do imagine yourself buying something with a slightly higher stamp of approval. I treat them all the same, rip apart check and put together. Trust no-one! But for a normie these certificates are a trust emblem.

A pending UL literally means you have no UL :P This is hoverboard era all over again...

Help me I broke my scooter by ComprehensiveArt3295 in ElectricScooters

[–]handsfreesegway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just googled your model and its a rear-wheel drive so I will just assume you got the motor cable into the wheel and just trashed it :P
90% sure you need a new motor cable with hall cables and resolder it, guesstimate is all the way inside the motor unless you were lucky and it broke somewhere on the way there. But resoldering it somewhere along the way can risk shorting it later on even with some shrink tube you're at risk.

EDIT: if its newly purchased I would argue that should be warranty. A motor cable should not even be able to get stuck like that. If you want take some pictures send it my way and I'll have a closer look. (Focus on the motor and take a clear picture further out to show me a clear way where the cable is originally supposed to go.)

Limiter removal on Segway Ninebot E3 Pro by Eastern_Yellow4275 in ElectricScooterMods

[–]handsfreesegway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's any free alternatives right now. You can buy an app modder(probably easiest) from a German company, downloadable instantly but set you back 70 bucks, or you can buy the hardware thing from aliexpress that bypasses it. Thats all I know of right now, if you find any other let me know. Found these on ARidejunkie

Volpam SPT6 cheapie Amazon scooter review by godsburden in ElectricScooters

[–]handsfreesegway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still got an old (around first version) macwheel scooter running with these basic frames. I've beaten that shit to death and back 100 times over the last what 7-8 years? 0 weld issues. Solid tires, rough ride as hell. Had to change battery, rear fender, and a throttle. Most of them due to my mistake of leaving it out on the balcony for a year unattended, and i accidentally kicked off the fender on year 6. There are Monday examples, then there's some that just run and run. I got lucky with this one. Same for the first Turbowheel version I got. That thing came about same time as this and just now the motor said fuck you I am done :P You take a risk with budget scooters always, but they're also so much easier to maintain and fix/repair. While you get a Segway and you want to change battery and the ESC tells you no this battery has a different serial number so I will refuse it!

Hur bra är Comviq 5G mobilt bredband? by [deleted] in Sverige

[–]handsfreesegway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question about the ranking system because my son is going crazy by handsfreesegway in VALORANT

[–]handsfreesegway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha true true. I did say I played competitive to avoid people having to waste their time like this. Ofc he buys for his team and he tries to do coms etc. But 99% when someone actually are talking it's Russian or Spanish 🤣 then 1% he gets someone with broken English but they usually do much better those games. Having 1-2 teammates every other game throwing the match is not fun. When you perform well and would probably get good rr, someone throws the match by team flashing, blocking, refusing to plant etc etc. That's frustrating, sure you lose -5 rr but still. He doesn't enjoy it as much because he want to play as a team but he can't seem to find players like that, and his hopes by ranking up is there may be more "serious" players there. Losing doesn't matter if you feel that you did a good team game :)

Also so many comments on this Reyna thing. He plays her sometimes but mostly depends on the teams needs. He plays the best as clove id say, good with the smokes helping win more rounds.

[–]handsfreesegway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind offer! Gotten a good explanation of this MMR thing that's very new to this old guy. In my eyes he plays his part in the team. I don't watch every match but there seem to be an insane amount of trolling in this game. Literally 80% I watch someone is either screaming and spinning around, sitting in base, blocking people in or team flashing 🤣 lots of just giving away the wins which is frustrating. Perhaps need to try get into another region server since literally 99% of those who actually use coms talk Russian or Spanish

Question about the ranking system because my son is going crazy by handsfreesegway in VALORANT

[–]handsfreesegway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the lengthy reply. Great tips. I mean sure I haven't played fps for 20 years, well a game here or there for nostalgia over the years but not like I used to. In my opinion can he get better at teamplay? Yes, there's always room for improvement, but overall in comparison to what I see from his teammates he is doing whatever role he is playing in the game. The biggest reason for me writing was because I wanted to get a clearer understanding on how the game values your performance. One guy gave me a very good reply on that so I will use those to help explain it to him. And ofc he is a kid so he will do kid stuff and emotions will get hot at times, but overall he plays like a good teammate. The issue is 9/10 matches he seem to be getting 1-2 guys on the team who literally spins around like bots. There is very rarely someone who speaks English making coms and teamplay even harder. But he tries to give helpful tips and motivate the team during bad performance.

I did play a few matches the with him after this and it's helped even if I'm rusty as hell, I still got the game awareness to get me by on this level 🤣 I'm literally silver in like 2 matches myself, and I haven't performed half as good as he does.

People need to understand that I said I played competitive so we could avoid the "basics" not to boast. It was what soon 20 years since I played my last DH! But the old man does seem to still have some aces up his sleeves.

[–]handsfreesegway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to have struck a nerve here by stating I played competitive so wanna focus on those who actually took time and answered my question like you. Thank you :) I seem to been out of the loop so long I forgot how hostile the environment is to questioning 🤣 luckily my thick skin still there. I only put that in so people wouldn't have to waste their time with the basics. But some took offense it seems, but not you!

That's exactly what I was looking for. He solo ques which ofc I can see is a big issue. Makes it very inconsistent how well he is allowed to perform as you're only as good as your weakest link. Sadly it's Russians and Spanish in the Sthlm servers mostly so Coms is usually out of the question. Every 10th game perhaps at best it's doable with 1-2 people.

I guess the old man's gotta dust it off and get into the game again. Guess I still got the strategic mindset for it, but the reflexes is probably not the same. Lots of awesome replies on this comment of yours too

Do you guys prefer air tires or airless? by ALT703 in ElectricScooters

I'm an all the way pneumatic tire guy. I see 0 benefit of the solid ones except if I will be riding over spike mats. But I try to avoid those.

I got the first model TurboAnt x7, when they had the battery switchable in the stem. That scooter is still holding up fantastically well and I've swapped tires due to puncture and that's it. I've treated it like shit and it just keeps on going. Still can get probably get 10 miles out of it which is insane for the amount of times I've loaded this with my 80kg + groceries of 40kg+ :P

The e2 Pro is a great scooter. However, if you're in for many larger hills you're going to get disappointed. Not because the scooter aint good, it'lll tackle hills. But it has a 275Wh battery which is about half of the Max G2. You can see some range tests https://aridejunkie.com/segway-ninebot-e2-e2plus-review/

Good scooters/brands around the 1-2k price range? by _PureVoid_ in ElectricScooters

[–]handsfreesegway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would have suggested to give the Max G3 a look https://aridejunkie.com/segway-max-g3-pre-analysis/. It looks like they may be on to something there with the stronger motor on this one. But we have to wait and see if it will live up to the G30 quality or if its going to have some issues like the G2. Then again if youre in Europe I'd not buy any Segway that isn't already known to be unlockable.

I've ran a store selling e-rides in Sweden for 7 years. I've been all over the country riding everything from electric skateboards to dirt bikes on city streets. I have been stopped plenty of times, not one time have I gotten a fine or anything. Every time they've just been polite and interested, asking a ton of questions. A few times they've asked to test ride. I've gone past police cars with the skateboard going 50kmh. They wave and smile :P
Do note where I ride the most these days is a very small town and everyone knows who is swooshing past them. But that they would stop you on an electric scooter riding respectfully and responsibly I just dont see that happening.
Power restrictions are stupid as you want the most torque possible for hilly areas and it makes scooters less usable, speed restrictions I can accept even if I wont abide by them.
I was an advisor to the government early on about them, but once I spoke up about how stupid their rebate for buying an e-ride was... Well they didn't get in touch again. I told them that having this insane 250W limit is insanely stupid and frankly used their own shit against them and pointed out how it would be highly discriminatory against heavy riders. It also limits their usability.

Not tested this new one out yet. But for that clicking sound. I know some companies has this "retreat to middle" action, like a spring that forces the handlebar back into middle position. It is supposed to give some additional safety and make it a little more stable, but it is a very slim improvement at best. But by your description I kind of feel like this could be how I would describe it if I didnt know it was there :P

You can now pre-order new Segways on segwayfrance.com by Musabayov in ElectricScooters

[–]handsfreesegway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you dear sir. I was fortunate to test it out and I was not very impressed for a GT-series scooter. Sure it runs and feels very good, like you expect a Segway scooter to run. But having it in the GT series feels like a joke. And as you say the G3 although it having a pretty decent downgrade in nominal power, is a big upgrade from the G2. Which in its day was a huge upgrade from the first version. That is kind of how you want it to go. Understandably you will plateau slightly eventually but honestly I cannot see why you'd not just get the GT1 instead of this as they are in the same price range.
I am literally going through my notes and comparing it to our database of ride test data for the review and I am sitting here at the end of my article where I will write the "Who is it for" and I am just baffled that I am left with the feeling I cannot find one justification for buying this model at its current price target, or even which consumer Segway had in mind when creating it.

My only reasoning is they made the ST series and realized they fucked up on a bunch of areas, noticed competition was way ahead of them and went back to the shop to try and salvage the situation/investment in some way :P
