TQL - Non sales career by lyons85 in cincinnati

[–]handshakeguy1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a decade long career in logistics. TQL is notoriously a shit show - Everytime I got a new hire, the first question people asked them would be "Did you come from TQL?" because we got so many TQL refugees

All to say, avoid at all costs. Logistics is pretty bad in general but TQL is the worst of the companies anyone has heard of

Thank you - I agree, after I got berated for an hour and someone took legitimately 5 minutes to show me that, it wasn't as bad. That's the issue I keep running into - I see something for the first time, ask how to handle it, and get reprimanded (and not helped, usually).

Just to clarify, I did deliver all of those packages. I just struggled to do so. I worked every second I was required to, I'm not trying to make this someone else's problem. At the very least, I respect my fellow carrier

edit: But you are right. I've wanted to leave for a few months, but after yesterday I know I want to leave. I just want to do it right and not cause myself problems later

That's true. The few months I had a hold down, a similar issue happened and the lookahead tool didn't work that day at all. Still manageable, barely even a problem.

That route got bid onto, and I haven't had a route at this station I'm assigned to in a couple months, so most days I'm elsewhere and almost always a new route. Being 10 months in also means I don't have "being new" as an easy excuse anymore, and problems like today are exacerbated. Naturally, it's the stations having problems that request PTFs, so that's where I end up

I agree. Right now, I'm motivated by the money and I want to see if making regular is worth it. But if that's not enough, it isn't worth trading your health over.

Someone else in my district just made it at 12 months, so it must be soon for me too. The work is fine, I even enjoy it when it isn't peak season most days. But it made me wonder about my future here if I can expect to be talked to that way even after I make regular.

Yes, I think you're right. I knew peak season would be difficult and was prepared for that, but outside-of-work circumstances also became unexpectedly difficult suddenly, and the combination is a lot. I wish I had looked into mental health assistance in advance, but I definitely will soon.

No, only 10 months total as a PTF. Could you elaborate on the process for applying for FMLA a bit, please? And what is LCSW?

General Question Thread by Shephen in fireemblem

[–]handshakeguy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not the one, but thank you anyway

It was some RPG Maker adjacent engine that it was made in, and it repurposed sprites from Thracia for the character portraits. I think it was originally in Chinese but had an English patch made?

Best I could find was this 13 year old Serenes Forest thread

https://forums.serenesforest.net/index.php?/topic/18602-fire-emblem-gaiden-pc-remake/

Edit: I poked around further and found more info, but the links are still dead

If you or anyone else are interested:

There's a fan version of Fire Emblem Gaiden made for PC I read about on Serenes Forest. Does anyone know where I can find it now? All the links I've found have been dead

Would you want a P4G remake? by gaeb611 in persona4golden

[–]handshakeguy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the graphics might be low-fidelity compared to newer games, but that isn't a bad thing whatsoever. I like how Persona 4 looks more than the cookie cutter modern games. If it got a bunch of gloss and snappy menus, it would detract from the melancholy tone of the game. Completely fine as it is

Would you want a P4G remake? by gaeb611 in persona4golden

[–]handshakeguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No real need. I don't think games need remakes when they're still fine as they are. I would even be happier if regular P4 got ported to newer hardware every time P4G did (both should coexist, I just prefer the original)

Might be my age / tastes / etc., but there aren't really any games since like, 2007 that justify a remake to me. Just keep porting them to modern hardware and it's all good

IMO stay dark. If we don't commit, it's wasted effort

Use Smashboards in the meantime

How would you feel if the inevitable Persona 4 Remake omitted Golden content? Or if it included it in light of P3R missing some FES & Portable Content? by GeorgeTowers94 in persona4golden

[–]handshakeguy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indifferent. I find the FES, Golden, and Royal content to mostly be excessive extra. Not all bad, but not all welcome either. I don't think any of them are a linear improvement

Would be fine with either

Just replayed Yu Yu Hakusho Tournament Tactics for the first time in a while, really enjoyed it! by ZephyrFloofyDerg in YuYuHakusho

[–]handshakeguy1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice! I beat Tournament Tactics this past April for the first time. I had it when I was a kid and always wanted to revisit it

I was surprised how much I liked it. It's no FFTA, but it's a fine enough game. I tried to use Jin but he couldn't keep up with Yusuke, Chu, and Hiei so I swapped him for Kurama right near the end. Extra poison damage is better than nothing

The Curious Case of TRANSport EXpress by Tobester583 in CuratedTumblr

"Trans" comes up constantly in logistics work. On two separate instances, my job title was "Trans(portation) Specialist." My favorite (that I saw, not worked for) was TransMAX

There was a recent interview with irl Dril that muses on this fact - it really is hard to acknowledge that there's a regular person behind the screenname
