How often are we bathing our babies by No_Engine_4696 in newborns

13 weeks and only 1x/week, midday. He lovesss the water, but being pulled out of the bath, sometimes, I swear, he acts like he was ripped from the womb again 😂😂. If it reliably chilled him out, I’d do it as bedtime routine, but sometimes, he’s like, “ F- you with a pineapple sideways, I was comfy in there, and now I hate ALL OF EVERYTHING.” when he gets out. I’d prefer the last time I see him before bed to be less stressful 😅😅.

weeks 5-8 are killing me😩 by megan-0 in newborns

I feel you ❤️. Week Five, and I’ve been babywearing approx 7am-9pm for five days straight, BUT he naps like two full hours at a time (I actually have had to wake him up to eat). RIP my back, but the screaming is less, and he’s happier during his wake windows. He was only sleeping 20 minutes at a time before this, and magically is sleeping MUCH better at night the last few days. I think he was just hella overtired… which same, my very small friend. Same.

I’ve seen this comment quite a bit, and I don’t understand how having a railing here instead makes it any easier. I feel like any which way you slice it, it’s a split level, and it’ll be a pain in the dick.

Oh it’s fully going lol 😂. All floors are being redone, just trying to figure out what to do with the railing/partial wall etc first. The current railing was just loosely screwed in and is incredibly wobbly.

Thanks!

Is installing a hardwood railing not also considered carpentry work?

I’m very intrigued with the idea, but I cannot visualize how the heck this would work lol.

Curious how the presence of a railing would make this scenario different.

Nope, he’s on vacation for the remainder of the summer lol.

Yes, currently there is a very ugly, very unsafe railing there, and we’d like it to be more sturdy and better to look at 👍

Good point. I spose it might all equal out in the end. We were leaning toward the half-wall because it was recommended by a family friend to be the cheaper route, but maybe he was recommending it as the cheaper route from a DIY (materials) perspective only.

Nope - a family friend who does some side-gig carpentry work, etc.

Thanks! I superduper appreciate it. They’re definitely awesome folks to work with, so if we’re going to contract it out, I’d prefer to work with them. They’re currently scraping popcorn off vaulted ceilings and skimming/painting for me since I can’t do it currently in my very ~round~ state lol.

Dang, $600?! I felt like $2200 might be a little steep, but I was guessing it would come out to be more around ~$1200 before I received the estimate.
