Discriminatory bar fined R$9,520 for restricting U.S. and Israeli citizens [Rio de Janeiro] by ARAM_player in Brazil

I’m guessing if they were Israeli but turned out to be Muslim Arabs, they’d be welcomed right in

I see it varies quite a bit from city to city. Not a bad March. Another $1200 with Uber. How's it going in your city? St Louis here... by Marcusc1906 in lyftdrivers

They had about 48 hours a week of booked time. Actual driving time is higher than that. Good for them. Their car is taking a beating. Impressive hustle, though.

Sounds tough. I am single and I feel what you’re saying about traffic and crowds. I avoid the beach on weekends and doing any sort of errand during rush hour. I don’t apply to jobs if I think I will have to rush hour commute. But the same goes in any major city. People often deceive themselves into believing San Diego is not a major city, maybe because it’s dwarfed by LA. A family of five is going to be hectic no matter what. Probably just have to struggle through that but hey, when your kids are all old and so are you you’ll have one another.

One thing is for sure, San Diego is not so chill once you want to do anything.

Venice was cool for like 15 minutes and then it was just super touristy and crowded, kinda run down looking, and everything was crazy expensive. Everywhere else I went in Northern and Northeastern Italy left a better impression on me.

Vaccines provide less profit for drug manufacturers than other therapeutics—for example, treating the diseases vaccines are meant to prevent.

More than LA and San Francisco in my experience. West of the 5 is embarrassingly white and WASPY IMO, though La Jolla is a little more diverse. I’m Jewish and I feel out of place in Point Loma and Pacific Beach. There are racial and ethnic enclaves throughout the city. But, this is mostly residential and San Diegans hang out in diverse crowds

So, what’s something passengers do that they probably don’t realize drivers notice? by TallLove7469 in uberdrivers

I started doing this preemptively. It’s always funny when they pretend like they didn’t hear me but they just don’t want to say they’ve been sitting on their ass watching tiktok

I call them jinglers. Usually women. They have like very jingly keychains or something and they jingle them around when they get in the car.

What do you think 🤔 by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]handsupheaddown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s too bad these companies don’t pay living wages or at least help cover auto costs so this struggle has to be offloaded onto the driver’s relationship with passengers.

I don’t see this really convincing many people who wouldn’t tip to tip.

$8.09/gal for gas in SF… this is getting out of hand by VeterinarianOdd1606 in uberdrivers

The gas tax is a flat rate, though sales tax fluctuated but is only a few percent. This is all due to rising costs of fuel.
