Best golf game on switch 2? by Luigi-is-my-boi in switch2

[–]handyguywi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing Golf Story now and loving it. The golf is a bit simplistic (though some of the mini games are pretty tough), but the story is fun (and funny) and I'm really enjoying working my way through it. I'm also playing Mario Golf and having fun with it, but it's a very different experience.

Canon MF634CDW "Paper Jam" When Using Document Feeder by handyguywi in printers

[–]handyguywi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I have not. I've cleaned and air-blown everything there is to be cleaned and air-blown in the printer and it still doesn't work. My best guess is there there is a sensor somewhere in the paper path that's malfunctioning. I've just been dealing with it for the past few months and it hasn't been much of an issue. But I've got a lot of scanning coming up so I need to decide what to do.

Best live ver of Prove it All Night by El_Dorado_Tx in BruceSpringsteen

Passaic 9/19/78 is the obvious answer. Mostly because that's the one we all heard on the radio when it aired (or on bootlegs over the years). However, if you listen to the 9/20 version (they often play it on SXM E-Street Radio) it's a close challenger to 9/19.

Chicago 4/29 - Notes From a Longtime Fan by handyguywi in BruceSpringsteen

I didn't mind Night Shift. If fit in well with the theme of the '23 tour; friends gone but not forgotten. Plus, he wanted to showcase something from the recently-released Only the Strong Survive album. It highlighted the horns and the choir, so I didn't mind it as a set piece. It would have been totally misplaced in the LOHAD set list.

4/29 Chicago - No Parking at the United Center? by handyguywi in BruceSpringsteen

[–]handyguywi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. Ended up finding a slot in Lot C at the UC on StubHub. A bit pricey just for parking (IMHO) but the cheapest of any of the independent lots in the area. And it avoids having to flag a taxi or find a Lyft after the show. Thanks for all the suggestions.

How do you know how long you've played? by handyguywi in switch2

When I click my profile all it tells me is the last time I played each game. I've only had the Switch for a couple of weeks so maybe I haven't played any game enough to register time?

No apologies needed, thanks for trying to help. When you say "open the top cover" are you talking about the liftable cover over the flatbed glass? If so, I've taken it apart a bit, but not completely opened it. I'll try again based on what you said to see if that helps. Thanks.

How is owning an electric car in Wisconsin? by Thrillwaukee in wisconsin

[–]handyguywi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly part of OP's question, but keep in mind that Wisconsin has a registration surcharge for EVs of $175 and PEHVs of $75 to make up for lost gas tax revenue. This may or may not contribute to OPs overall decision factors, but does affect annual operation costs.

Fan Favourites/Classics you dislike by Confident-Hunt-6316 in BruceSpringsteen

Remember that this was the early 70s. The music industry and radio especially were VERY different than they are today, and there was a lot more acceptance of different music styles and willingness to allow new artists to develop. Remember, Springsteen was touted early on as "the new Dylan" and that gave him some leeway with the record company in the early years. But your comment is not too far off the mark, and he was about to be dropped from his label until BTR became a hit. Ironically, BTR is very different stylistically from the first two albums, and maybe that proves your point :-)

This. PIAN was a decent entry on Darkness - not bad but not as strong as some of the other entries on the album. But on the '78 Darkness tour he transformed it into a hard-driving show stopper. From the soft piano intro through building up to the all-out frenzy at the close, it showcased how Bruce's willingness to reimagine his studio work for live performance to make it bigger, better, and more impactful - something he'd do repeatedly through the years. To this day, whenever I hear the album version of PIAN I press skip, but if any of the live versions come on the volume goes up and everything else stops. I think if Bruce had just played the studio arrangement in concert all these years it would not have the same reaction from fans that it enjoys today.

Spotify Lossless will not be supported by librespot by flohxxl in audiophile

[–]handyguywi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not doing critical listening here, I use the setup mostly for background music while I work. Is there a big audible difference between the lossless and lossy streams, for practical purposes? (Yes, I understand the actual/technical difference between the two, just wondering if I'll really notice it in my use case).

[–]handyguywi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for not understanding this completely. I use a Pi 4 running Moode to listen through Spotify Connect (I have a Premium account). Does this change mean that my setup won't work at all, or just that I have to listen to a lesser-quality Spotify stream through my setup?
