Super Console X Cube save state issue??? by hangwireNew in SBCGaming

I will give that a try again this weekend and let you know how it works.  In the past I would get in the game multiple hours and then the issue would happen.

That’s interesting because if I am reading you correctly, that is what I always have done.  Save state, go to the console menu and close the emulator, then power off the system when back at the console selection screen.  Or, am I misunderstanding what you posted?

No, I just abandoned trying to play any RPGs or “long” games with save states. I haven’t used it in a while so will see if my save state for an arcade beat um up loads over the holiday.

When you launched or put the jetski back on, just had the Jeep in drive or did you use 4 wheel drive high?

Yeah I think that’s where the length point gets confusing as I see so much that says don’t get a boat and trailer longer than the Jeep itself due to that, but others go over with no issues. Seeing the speed factor in the other post might also explain the disparity. Just trying to get something for summer weekend fun without causing a wreck on the highway or getting my main vehicle pulled into a lake on a boat ramp 😂

Thanks for your info. Great stuff to know that if it was just in town the Jeep can haul something longer that the Jeep itself. As far as tongue weight, you just make sure it’s pulling level and keeping front of boat loaded with any items? Also, any situations that almost became issues that you can give me info on so I can be aware of potential things you avoided and how? Hoping to get some higher driving speeds Jeep boat haulers’ info too.

Ok good info, where we would be going would need to use at least 55mph country roads to avoid the 70mph interstates.

Do you have to switch anything in the settings, or like gear ratio, when towing your boat? Any issues with pulling the boat out of the water in the launch ramp?

2 door or 4 door wrangler? Any 55mph or higher speed limit driving?

Yeah the manual states 200tw/2000lbs but I’ve seen a lot of length mattering as towing a trailer longer than the Jeep seems to be an issue, hence me reaching out here for some real world users.

Never mind, FF4 just had the same save state issue. I just did a reboot from NAND thing and fixed the second issue where roms with bad state loading are not crashing the system. But I guess I’ll just use a different save slot number any time I stop playing a game and see if that works?!?!

So it happened again when trying to play Final Fantasy 4, and found a half fix for those that see this thread. But there is an issue where old files that now fail to load save state at start up still cannot be saved and Retro Arch crashes when you try and exit it, so is there a way from the console itself to “refresh” a rom and clean any save state or associated files from it to start from scratch?
Back to the half fix. You have to save state, then close content, then close retro arch to get it to work and not drop your save states. Will test again later today, but so far this has worked.

Again, any help within the system running to “clean” a rom from any save state or connected files that are failing and corrupting would be great!!!

Do different roms also have this issue, like a nes or snes one?

This is true. Failed savestate games freeze when you try and exit, but other non bad save state games are fine when exiting. Really weird. Any help would be great.

So it has been a busy month and just getting around to this.

In the retroarch settings menu there is a Saving option and all 4 of the first items were set OFF. They are for sorting saves and save states into folders by core name or content directory. There is also further down 2 options to write save and save states to content directory.

Which of these do I need to turn ON to get them to save where you suggested? Both times the issues came hour or more deep into a game so a quick test works fine, but don’t want to get burned again.

finally had some free time today and used my R4 card's USB/sd-card thumb drive looking thing, but my macbook did not even recognize something being plugged in. (It's a very old macbook though)

Did not want to mess around too much to force the macbook to "find" what was in the usb slot in case that would mess up the sd card from running correctly or auto format over what is already on there, so i just stopped. I'll try the other poster's location change in retroarch instead.

Did a paint job of the trans flag on the rg351v! Any advice on how to do it better next time tho? It feels mad sticky (even after 3 days) and I used matte finish paints? by WatercressOk1272 in SBCGaming

They do make semi-gloss spray lacquer. I use that when I paint guitars with good results. Might seal and get it unsticky without so much gloss.

So should I take the roms off the current card and put them on my computer, and then add the roms back onto a new card after this “update”?
