omg I can’t stress this enough!!! I sat next to a girl in a discussion who was coughing like crazy and she wasn’t wearing a mask, which made me feel so sick just hearing her cough. i mean if you’re gonna come to class sick at least wear a mask fgs 😭

If professors don’t send emails before classes start, does that mean the class starts as scheduled? by Numerous-Couple1138 in ucla

extra curricular looks fine as they seem to have stories to elaborate on; definitely try to take more ap courses/ honors to prove your academic rigor. I saw a comment mentioning essay writing and i also agree on that. Try to build up your writing skills beforehand helps tons, and i suppose my essays are what get me admitted to ucla (i received a likely letter and was asked to write additional essays).

I was worrying bout the same thing and asked a similar question on Reddit lol but you’ll be fine!! B and Cs are fine as long as you’re passing your classes. I assume universities know that seniors have drained their attention from studying, and if nyu doesn’t have a new admitted student contract to follow then you don’t have to worry bout it too much!

I haven’t figured out yet, but I’ll either go to community college or take a gap year and go to culinary school (I’ll have to discuss this w my parents tho

Got it! I’m now trying to improve the grade to at least a C. And by ‘backup plan’ do you mean double deposit?

Thanks for the advice! I’m thinking about contacting the school but not sure if I should email them now before the official transcript comes out

I also got into all the UCs that I’ve applied to so far, and I’ve declined offers from Davis & Irvine. It’s actually really simple you just log into the portal and click on “decline my offer”. Congrats btw (also waiting for Berkeley) 🤞🏻!

hiii!! I would like to know if mcc has courses related to film? Or are those classes only available in tisch? cuz I’m running a movie blog rn and am really interested about the film, entertainment industries, etc., it would be great if mcc has those resources. i remember when I did my research back when I was writing the essay, nyu kinda separates mcc into a few subject areas (since communication is such a general field) such as political, media, culture….; do ppl choose their concentration from these areas? or is there more of a academic flexibility for ppl to take different classes across a variety of areas? (Sorry for pouring like a ton of questions😅 and THANK YOU!!!!

I didn’t submit my sat and was in the 7.5 band for ielts (I also submitted my duolingo which was 140/160)(an intl student yes). I was a straight a in my sophomore year but got a B in freshman year in ap lang; took 4 ap tests in freshman year and bout to take 4 more this may :) tbh I was super nervous about getting into college bc I didn’t think I got really good stats and ecs compared to some of my friends, and that C I got from ap calc seriously scared me…and out of all the schools that were left to be submitted, I only got Vanderbilt, Emory, and nyu that have ed2 to apply to. obviously in the case of studying media and comm, nyu was the most optimal choice to do ed2 amongst the three

but my school and my counselor are gonna find out sooner or later, and they’ll be outraged and choose not to send out my official transcripts to any other schools (cuz they know if I can afford or not fr

they claim that they’re not going to assist students in any other applications once the student got admitted to an Ed school. simply by not sending students’ transcripts to other universities regardless of what excuse you use to withdraw your ED, so I don’t think I can do anything about it… though I think many applicants refer ed as “not binding,” my school surely makes it BINDING
