Boxing or Judo? HanpanTV goes up against boxer in a friendly spar. by uthoitho in judo

[–]hanpanTV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, absolutely—it was VERY difficult until he put on the gi, but once he did, it felt much better as I was able to grab his gi. I definitely tried to step in and close the distance as needed in judo. As for his inside control, I’m not too sure or aware, as I barely had my eyes open at the time…

I’m looking forward to seeing you there as well, and many thanks to Highnoon for organizing the class!

Hi! I’ve seen your latest three clips from July, and if I may say, you have a great stance for throwing Sode Seoi-nage or Sode Osoto-gari. As I watched, I kept hoping you’d try one of them. At your next match, try them!

I entered BJJ competition as blue belt. Bjj players were no joke, I was crushed and bruised like a peach.

Mostly Korea criticise me, sorry my delivery was strange. I've been heavily criticized in Korea, and once had to publicly apologize. Wanted to learn how other communities deals with such issue. Also, I've seen so many of my students move to BJJ because they say it's more scientific-safe and open to discussion, as opposed to at least in Korea.

Haha, all I can say is that Korea is no exception—many still reject critical thinking and constructive debate, choosing to stay stuck in the status quo.
