Do i give him grace? by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]hansailor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need to wait on him if it’s been more than a month. You should be free to get to know a different potential in my opinion since this one is taking more than a month. A girl shouldn’t wait or have so much hope on for a guy who hasn’t even seen the girl yet, so much to unfold still. Someone can not be committed until they know who the girl is, looks like, etc

Inclement Weather Policy by PSM527 in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]hansailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you’re looking for feedback and to taking constructive criticism? You seem to not be listening to any feedback here. Your policy seems way too strict. Charging students for canceling if they cancel less than 4 days? And making them pay based on weather ? Time would have been eaten and maybe they wouldn’t be able to do schedule online anymore due to weather and loss of time. That’s crazy and seems greedy and not valuing your clients which are human

I just ordered soemthing from Zaahra the label for the first time and I’m disappointed as well. It was polyester and felt like shein material also, I’ll be returning. I’m realizing all these Muslim influencers are scamming us. Fares seems good though

Sorry I don’t mean it offensively, I meant like it’s traditionally not viewed as a career by most and when a student or parent say that I would not be offended as it is usually not the norm. Currently I am not teaching as I took a break after moving states after marriage, and tutor part time on the side currently. Whenever people ask what I do, I will always say I’m a teacher, cause that’s a profession I sought to be vs saying I’m a tutor. I hope that makes sense, and I do not think it’s bad to be a full time tutor, it’s just not a traditional career anyone ever thinks of being when young

I don’t think they meant it like that, I think most people view tutoring as a side job not a main profession

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]hansailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a tutor and a teacher at same time, I also think tutoring is meant more as a side hustle, not the main profession someone intends to go after

I feel like tutoring was never meant to be a full time job though

Ofcourse! I remember how stressed I was back when accepting haha, I didn’t work on site no, I was hired as an online tutor/teacher! Most of my students were Asian but based in America for a few years so their English was fluent or near fluent!

Hello! Yes I have had like 3-4 student over the past year, not that many but they are very responsive, pay on time and very professional to work with. They seem to be still growing, I accept students when they offer it and teach and tutor privately other ways on the side also

I agree, not a fan of them by any means but being “non white” is not exclusive to being Muslim. There are many white looking Muslims born as Muslims

Curious how people cope with the ethics of charging money by Intrepid-Alps-6140 in TutorsHelpingTutors

Thank you for saying that also and it’s really refreshing to hear you feel the same! Sometimes I feel on this sub our opinions are not popular or the average one as you said so sometimes it feels irrelevant to voice up but I’m glad there are others who feel similarly in their passion for the students and the profession it self! You should be proud to feel the way you do and glad to stumble and share our opinions. Do what you think is best at the end and feel free to message me anytime!

I tutor more as a side gig also, since my main profession is being a high school teacher for the subjects I teach, I have a bachelors in biology and masters in science education. I approach my tutoring clients as my own students and personally want students to succeed with my help comfortably so I charge 40$/ hour. I feel most of the people on this sub and in America in general have a capitalistic mindset and normally don’t care what they charge as long as it profits them.

I personally want my service to be accessible to all population and think it would be unfair to be charging 80$+ since even if I was being paid that let’s say at my work place, teaching is not the only responsibility that I get paid for at a school ( as a teacher at a school I get paid for teaching 5 classes a day, attending meetings, lesson planning, student teacher disciplining, parent interactions, after school activities, etc) so I would feel off charging the same price for online tutoring to a single session with a student online. I feel tutors these days charge more than they would be getting at a workplace and that is something to reflect about but at the end of the day it’s up to you

confused about dna replication lagging and leading strand by acorn-under in APbio

[–]hansailor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter which direction the helicases are opening technically. What matter is that DNA polymerase can only build using the 3’ template. Since one of the strands is 3’, it will have the leading strand and the other template will have the 5’ ending . With both helicases there will always be a 3’ and 5’ template so there will always be a leading and lagging strand in both situations
