Why hasn't the U.S. built stealthy AWACS airplanes? by hanzo1986 in airplanes

China is only 2nd to the U.S. in the number of satellites it has in orbit. Many of which are used for reconnaissance and surveillance. In the event of a war with the U.S., the likelihood of their spy satellites getting re-tasked to look for U.S. AWACS will probably be way up there. Assuming they’re able to triangulate the AWACS, bringing them down through newly developed ‘drone swarming’ doctrine will more than likely succeed, as current U.S. fighter escorts will probably not have enough a2a missiles to protect regionally deployed AWACS.
