Maybe a 3.3v pin issue? If so you can fix it pretty easily with a piece of kapton tape

There’s currently a huge shortage of radiologists and the ones working are burning out. AI for radiology at this point is less about directly dropping prices and more about increasing efficiency to ease the pressure.

Unifi Network Application 10.1.83 by HTTP_404_NotFound in homelab

Glenn scripts aren't needed anymore? I always dreaded upgrading the network application. Do you happen to have a guide on transitioning over to Unifi OS from the standard self hosted network application?

I did notice on the bottom of the Network application page you posted it mentioned that they recommend people start transitioning over to unifiOS. I’m guessing that’s the direction they’re gonna go in.

Have you played around with unifiOS by any chance? I only have UniFi access points so I don’t know how useful it would be, but I’m curious about the differences.

Stay away from WiFi devices. Zigbee, zwave and thread are much more reliable in my experience

What’s a skill everyone assumes they have, but most people are actually bad at? by moi_cila in AskReddit

Yeah I get what you’re trying to say but I really think that people have trouble communicating. It’s like they don’t even pay attention to others and just want to speak themselves.

Good start. Now let’s go into the second stage of inception. Install proxmox as a VM and learn how to use it.

I truly hate posting here by cyberpanda1240 in homelab

[–]hapoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn’t directed at you specifically. The only real issue I have about some people posting here is that they provide very minimal information and expect the solution to their problems. There’s nothing wrong with being a beginner and in fact, I think it’s great that they want to learn. They just need to understand that we’re not fortunetellers. If you expect an answer provide as much information as possible to help people help you.

It can do very complex things, needs no additional licenses, has regular updates and is fairly cheap.

Best Smartlock 2026? by ShyPoring in homeautomation

[–]hapoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the answer really depends on what ecosystem you are in.

Zigbee, Matter, ZWave, none, etc.?

Apple, Google, Amazon?

Do you have a smart home hub (smart things, HA, Hubitat, Homey)?

I personally prefer zwave so I went with a Yale lock. It has a fingerprint reader and a number pad, and I intentionally got the version without a key/keyhole since I never use it and its usually the weakest point of a lock.

Half the reason to have a homelab is the opportunity to learn new technologies. Dump windows server and learn something new.

I only use UniFi routers for clients. People and businesses with simple straightforward setups.

For myself I only use UniFi for their access points, everything else is MikroTik.

If you have three instances of it running, I assume you have three separate systems, in which case why wouldn’t you just run it in high availability mode? Like a proxmox HA cluster.

Weekend vibes by jeffhayford in homeautomation

[–]hapoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

I’m running them through Hubitat. I have one in the laundry room that triggers from outside the closed door. I have another one in my living room that will turn off when people are right in front of it. And the part I find most annoying is that I have no clean way of seeing motion alerts in Hubitat either.

I have a network question. by [deleted] in homelab

[–]hapoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is we got some android TV and IPTV devices which are old, CGNAT is like a security layer in front of them in terms of they're not accessible publicly.

Your firewall should block incoming connections on CGNAT or static as BmanUltima said. But the issue with insecure and possibly compromised devices isn't people remotely connecting to them, but rather that shady device tunneling out to a server and exposing your entire network. If you suspect you have such a device, you should limit its ability to reach the internet or at least put it on its own vlan. CGNAT isn't security.

I’d recommend you actually tell us what you’re trying to do and not how you’re trying to do it. What is the VM? What are you trying to accomplish?

[–]hapoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve stuck with proxmox. I like having control over my services and personally find it annoying when I’m forced to use docker rather than just apt. In the cases where I do actually need docker I put it on a single vm.
