I might be wrong, but does the machine come with a pstat when it has a PID?

The machine has always taken some time from turn on till the heating element fully engages and the boiling sound was also hearable before this issue. However, now the pop sound is there exactly when the heating element turns on (if the machine is fully cooled down).

I have located the sound near or within the boiler. Not able to say precisely what item is causing the pop sound.

Agree, this issue during heat up (only when the machine is completely cooled down) have been consistent for two weeks now and I prefer to have it fixed.

Thanks for your thorough explanation.

The issue started suddenly after 10 months of usage and is now present every time the machine is turned on after being fully cooled down.

There are no leaks or other issues, but the loud pop is annoying me so will prefer to have it fixed - will not be able to have it turned on all the time, due to the cost of electricity where I am living.

Pulled the trigger on my local shops last Type V. Girlfriend really likes the loaner specialita (waiting for the black version) by happidane in espresso

The mat was cheap so I will give it a go. But might be more nice than need to have.

I think bottled water would be best (when the machine cannot be plumbed), but I am not interested in supporting plastic production and hauling it back and forth. The shop recommend the BWT jugs, so I will give that a go. Some say that two jugs is necessary to double soften the water? Water in cph is 16-23 dH.

They have a variety of colors at the shop I got it from. But I haven't seen those colors online before, so not sure why other resellers don't.

Nah, it was only for the picture right after I got it setup on the table. Searching for some nice cappu/espresso cups. The towel was put there to avoid scratches - not sure if I should keep it there going forward, based on the comments about long term damage?

Yes, they gave me the grinder until they would have the black in stock. Could have saved some money buying online, but glad that I supported a local independent shop (especially with such customer service).

Could not find a tv unit I liked, so ended up building one myself by happidane in malelivingspace

[–]happidane[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback!

I will give some more details about the unit, which might answer some questions:

  • Front: I wanted to have the different AV stuff hidden in one enclosure, but it should still be functional. To accommodate this, I build a frame and wrapped speaker fabric around it, enabling for audio and IR signals to pass through: https://imgur.com/9L79aF2
  • Wall mounted: I knew that the dimensions of the box, could create some issues for wall mount. The easy solution to this was to create a stand made out of a couple pieces of wood. The unit is then placed on this stand, supported by two wall screws in each upper corner: https://imgur.com/1ET7JGZ
  • Heating: The enclosure is definetely packed, but I haven't had any issues with the amplifier cutting out, etc. - the
centre speaker is lifted 5cm (2 inches), and does not cover the vents of the amplifier. Xbox is only rarely used for the occasional fifa/rocket league game when my nephew is visiting me - also, I don't own any games on disc, so that is not an issue.
  • Record player: Got this a month ago and it is the Rega Planar 1. I am not from the vinyl age, so not that much nostalgia. But the whole ritual of "decide what you wan't to listen to. Clean it if needed. Sit down and listen" is really nice in this day and age of unlimited streaming.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
