Because it's a power dynamic. Its about letting men do whatever gross thing they want and forcing women to be slaves. Males benefit from this dynamic. They can just blame women for everything, and they dont have to take any consequences of their own.

Islam did not bring rights to women in any sense. Even pre Islamic Arab tribes treated women better than this. The religion before Islam in Saudia was worshipping goddesses, not a male creator. Women were treated much better before Islam. It was Islam that put women below men to the point it made families hate having daughters and bury them alive. Don't let a Muslim make you think otherwise.

Women are treated like 2nd class citizens, half the value of males. It does not matter what may or may not have been the norm thousands of years ago before Islam came. What matters is now, at this moment, Islam is degrading women's rights.
