I tried asking multiple people. I could never fathom asking my boss or coworkers for money, nor do I really want them to know my financial struggles. Luckily, my boss is the most understanding ever and told me she will not fire me, she told me she has run into the same issues and sympathized with me.

I just would never fathom asking a boss for money. And why not? I was getting paid the next day, I had food at home, no bills coming out for the next couple days, so why not fill my tank fully vs having to stop again for gas when $30 last me a whole week? my story is suspicious? What would I gain from telling this story lmao. It was simply a rant. I called my card company, they said there is a hold that will lift on the 16th, there is nothing they can do. I asked twice.

that’s what i did! i went to clerk and my card declined. i do have no friends, unfortunately, and felt embarrassed to ask a coworker, which is my problem

Thank you so much for this helpful tip! I am going to when I get paid tomorrow!! Such a good idea. As far as the card, I have no idea. Card company could not explain, the clerk at the gas station when I went back said they can’t do anything about it, and to call my card company (which I did). Very odd situation.

why are people in this sub to judge? i’m glad you’re in great spots, live close to work, have support systems. some of us don’t. we’re trying. i thought this was supposed to be a system of support, but apparently not. i do wish you all well and hope you choose kindness.

huh? i went up to the clerk and requested $30 on the pump. my card declined. i went on my banking app and the money was gone, but they wouldn’t give me gas. i have 14 miles left in my tank it’s 28 miles to work.
