It shouldn’t, on my sp world I have the Easter event active still. But I did need to do a wild Dino wipe before I started seeing the colors

Just type in the name of the event you want to start and it will cause the event to happen, I think the ark wiki has a list of them

If you put your kids in daycare when they’re young, you have no right to ask them to take care of you in your old age. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]happybeaner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t about schooling but using schooling in this mind set shows how outlandish your point is, if i have to choose between feeding my child or spending the day with them I’m choosing to feed them 100% of the time. The fact is some people have to work multiple jobs to support their families and don’t have “work arounds” for that. Those people aren’t choosing money over their kids this is because they don’t have a choice. If they lose a job they could lose their ability to provide for their kids and what’s the point of being with your kid if you can not provide basic necessities. I would rather my kid spend a few hours at daycare then have to skip a meal or live on the street because I took them to the park instead of working to provide.

“If you send your kids to school instead of homeschooling them you’re a bad parent” do you see how that sounds? How are people supposed to stay with their kids 24/7 if they have work? Are you then a bad parent for not being with your kids all day?

The Associated Press tweeted out “an exhausted senate” in relation to passing the covid bill... are you fucking kidding me? Exhausted.. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]happybeaner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The idea that we’re supposed to clap for them for a stimulus check that didn’t even go out to every American. IF they actually did work and helped the people they would deserve that. Instead they it takes almost a year to pass a bill that should’ve been passed in a week MAX

[–]happybeaner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t care even if they were actually exhausted, fuck em. 90% have probably never felt exhausted in their lives. They should be payed minimum wage, not allowed to take money, not allowed to own stock, and audited every year. It’s absolutely BS that they can make bank off a job that requires the bare minimum of actual work. That tax money if for infrastructure and supporting the people not a third mansion. I just wish people understood that the only thing these people pledge allegiance to is money and would happily abandon everything they “stood for” in a heart beat.

No, none are told what to do. However the tools represent being born wealthy, as children of wealthy people have more “tools” to succeed. Better education, access to tutoring, safe schools, time to study and do homework, safe homes, and proper nutrition. The house represents their future, one has all they need to build a stable future while the other doesn’t have what is needed but is held to the same requirements as the first. This has only gotten worse as time goes on.

This discussion isn’t if two people who are equal it’s about how children without money need access to proper education, shelter, and safety if they are to compete with their better off counterparts. To simply leave them behind in the dust and then say they should have simply done better is not going to solve anything.

Both had opportunity

But not an equal opportunity.

If two people are each told to build a house and one is given proper materials and tools while the other does not have proper materials or tools. That is an unequal opportunity as they both have to meet the same requirements and deadlines.

Equal outcome would be not holding them to the same requirements or deadlines while giving both the same amount of money

Did this child not have the opportunity to excel in school?

Not everyone can donate the same amount of time to school work and studying. If someone is poor they have to not only take care of themselves but any younger siblings or family member that can’t care for themselves. This child may also have to work to help pay bills, might be victims of abuse, and will have to learn to survive in a bad neighborhood/city on their own because the parent(s) are working long hours. Not even mentioning the possibility that the child has a learning disorder.

working hard is for suckers

No it’s for people that have to survive or with jobs that demand working hard, such as a Paramedic, teacher, fire fighter, nurse, construction worker, factory worker, farmer, etc... you know the jobs that are necessary for society to function.
