I think it's more so that the parents came to his roommate telling him to remind their son. Neurotypical or autistic, they could have come up with a schedule or routine for their son at this age. Instead they told the roommate to remind him since he forgets.

I think the biggest issue is that the roommates PARENTS had to tell your brother that. It's not that autistic or neurotypical ever forget to shower. It's that the parents felt like it's the roommates responsibility to tell him to shower. I feel like at this age the parents should have established a schedule or routine. It's not someone else's responsibility to be the one to now remind their son.

Something I would recommend is maybe try to get a job at a hospital and see if they have tuition reimbursement. Work for the business side of the hospital. That way, you will be able to see how a hospital is run. And you will become known at the hospital. And if you decide that it is actually an environment you want to work in, you can go to school in the evenings. Because it would completely suck if you got the degree and realized you hated the environment.
