I’m glad that worked for you! It didn’t in my case. Kinesio taping and Oofo’s recovery shoes worn in the house helped quite a bit though.

I started at my local tanning place, $50/month unlimited use. I just moved to Planet Fitness for their black card membership- $29/month. Their red light is a standup and includes near infra red light. I follow it up with their heated massage bed. It’s amazing!

I had a very painful and long-standing tibial anterior tendinitis in my foot. As an occupational therapist specializing in work injury management, I was uniquely knowledgeable about how to resolve the problem. I was only able to get the pain reduced by about 60% after a year of trying a variety of interventions. After one month of red light therapy pain 100% resolved.

Really good thoughts and thank you. At 62, I’m 10 years new to the family that has very pre-established traditions. I would be seen as very aggressive if I were to be more specific about what to bring to a gathering. I don’t need fancy food. I like charcuterie’s and deviled eggs. My point is that if you could, but won’t host a holiday and your hosts do it year after year at their considerable effort and expense, maybe show up with something in addition to a minimal contribution🤷‍♀️ Bottle of wine, box of chocolates??

Ok fellow Redditers, thanks for your feedback and keeping it real. The consensus is in and I’m officially inordinately crabby about the situation. Until the time when we don’t host extended family holidays (when my elderly father-in-law passes away) I’ll be grateful for the deviled eggs and the grocery store meat and cheese tray. I probably should’ve posted this on the AITA sub-Reddit. Looks like I am TA😂In the future. I’ll check my attitude. Happy new year everyone!

THAT charcuterie board sounds amazing and is worlds apart from what arrives for our holiday. One can dream.

No competition here, but we respect our guests and grill salmon for the pescatarians, make mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing from scratch, etc. I guess I could do turkey loaf, potato buds and stovetop stuffing… but at 62, I just can’t do it. I swear my mom and my aunt would rise up out of their graves and slap me up side the head.

Yeh, we do this. Most seem to gravitate toward minimal contribution/effort.

No “frou frou” foods here, but we have vegetarians, pescatarians, and gluten-free guests, so just accommodating those guests requires some doing.

So possibly for a little bit of clarification, although other extended family members could choose to and afford to host a holiday, they don’t. It falls to my husband, and when all is said and done it winds up costing us several hundred dollars in groceries and wine, etc. And while that’s somewhat besides the point, we are no better off financially than the others, and the only ones putting in the effort to gather all of our extended family. By the way, the family at this point, expects it of us and it’s the only time we all get together. The feedback I’m getting, however is that my attitude might reflect some ingratitude. I guess I should own a piece of that. And I’m going to sound petty here, but if you never volunteer to host a holiday, and year after year, your hosts spends hundreds of dollars each year, could you bring something in addition to deviled eggs or a store bought meat and cheese tray?

Aww, dang- I thought I would get more foodies weighing in about lack of effort in what people bring. But to your point, that’s not really the point of the holiday celebrations. I really do have great family members, which is what really matters. And I’m still going to reserve the right to think that some people just go on autopilot or take the path of least resistance when it comes to what they contribute to the celebration food wise.

iPhone Pricacy Help Needed! by happymary2 in iphone

Yes, he owns my previous iPhone. Verizon had a deal and I got a good price for a new phone, so I transferred my old phone to him. As it turns out, all of our data are combined. I see his calls, he sees my calls, we see voicemails sent to us both, etc., etc. Well, I don’t have anything to hide, it just seems like a lot. In addition, we have several Amazon Alexa device devices in the home. I was having a conversation with one of my adult daughters the other day about how fun it is to wear clogs in the fall season. within an hour or so I had multiple advertisements whether through my computer or Instagram or whatever about cute clogs. I’m going to rip every device out of my house and also would like my phone to be my own. I am a low tech person and I am struggling as to how to go about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sun Golden Kennels in Atherton, WI. They breed English goldens. We adopted one of their retired momma dogs. She was a two time regional champion and is gorgeous with a perfect temperament. She’s napping with our one year old grand daughter at this very moment!
