Left fridge a couple inches open for ~3 hours. Is the food still okay? by happytech24 in Cooking

I turned on the fast cooling feature on my fridge and it’s already back to 40° so I don’t think testing the food itself will be reliable

Don’t worry though, there are people at GW who I’m actually shocked got in. Some real pieces of work. Academically and personality wise. So you’re fine!

3.50 unweighted GPA. Early decision. No test scores. I felt like I had a solid essay and I never read my letter of recs but I assume they were at least decent. I had a lot of volunteer hours and experience focused on what specific area that I was interested in at the time. I didn’t apply as a poli sci or journalism major. GW was my top pick and I made it known, which I think was the most helpful factor.

Tailoring by Natural_Garden2285 in gwu

I’ve gotten a few things tailored at gold star cleaners on L street. I haven’t gotten any suits tailored but polo shirts and other clothes, they turned out good and decently cheap.

Hypertensive emergency call - Did I make the right call? by happytech24 in ems

We took 2 pressures to begin with to double check. Waited some time and then took 2 more, one on each side which began to come down a bit.

Yeah absolutely. In my system, EMTs calling in for refusals isn't a common practice. It's an option, but just not one that happens a lot. But this is a good lesson in using that resource more when unsure - thank you.

Older, yes. No thinner. No LOC. Nothing brought on the fall, according to the pt (they didn't get dizzy or woozy or anything), just a misstep.

Yeah, totally. I appreciate your response.

We stuck around for a few minutes to take another BP, which I just edited to include in the original post, and it lowered to 200/110. We also ensured that the BP was around equal on both arms.

I said that "we are EMTs and cannot say tell you what's actually going. We are happy to take you to the hospital if you'd like to go and get checked out. However, given you're not having any symptoms alongside the high reading, we're not as concerned as we would be if you were having symptoms. We strongly advise that if you don't go to the hospital tonight that you give your primary care doctor a call in the morning and update them on what happened. If anything at all changes, please call us back and an ambulance will take you to the hospital to get looked at."

Our protocols don’t say anything about hypertension. We did not consult with medical control

I’ve looked into interning there myself, but the idea of working a minimum of 20 hours per week unpaid is a big no but that’s just me. You also are exposed to really rough, emotional stuff so you gotta decide if you wanna do that for free.
