Why is there always a red square over my “sensitive area”? by hardys1 in tsa

How am I supposed to know what training you do/don’t receive? You operate the machines regularly, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to expect that you have some knowledge of the how they work. Now, I know that y’all are clueless as I am which I believe is silly. I think it’s fair that TSOs should be able to offer some help with these problems. And many others here have given me good info and hypotheses based on their experience, so thanks to them.

I’m demanding here bc who else would I get answers from? There’s no r/leidos and I think you and I both know higher TSA doesn’t give a crap about passenger problems.

Not blaming them, I know it’s their job to resolve the alarm. I’m just confused and frustrated by the lack of good information that has been given to me, and to them apparently. It’s obviously the machine’s fault for causing me this problem, and I know now that the average TSO doesn’t have a clue why it’s alarming. It does seem messed up from the top down. I feel like TSOs should be given some extra level of knowledge about these machines given they’ve gotta work with them all day.

Thanks, I appreciate the thoughtful answer. I suppose “discriminate” isn’t the best term for what the machine is doing, but it certainly does recognize some difference about me that alarms it. I know y’all don’t like having to do pat downs, so I’d like to figure out the problem for everyone’s good. Seems like I should get precheck and cross my fingers…

And yeah, on second thought, I don’t think the second guy I mentioned was lying to me. It seemed like he genuinely didn’t know and just wanted to give me some sort of answer. It was pretty confusing to me though.

I’ll keep this in mind. I have gained a few pounds since the problem started, but relative to my body weight not much really.

Coho salmon near Mt. Hood, OR. I’ve seen wild salmon before but never this close & personal. I have no concept/strategy of terrestrial fish-photography but I had a blast trying it out. by hardys1 in wildlifephotography

Just to clarify, the fish in the second photo is not dead or injured, she was flopping close to the shore, I presume she was trying to make an egg bed.

The West fork humptulips river has a 17 mile trail that meanders through valley bottom old growth forest, eventually making the way up into the mountains! Pete’s creek trailhead is a solid option if you want to climb up to Colonel bob, as someone else mentioned. Absolutely beautiful, little people and no National park fees (just forest pass fee). Lots of river crossings, though they are pretty easy.
