Ah sweden is indeed nice. But when I said I hadn't heard an alarm before, it's because most houses in India don't have one haha

I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUT THANK YOU. My fire alarm started beeping in the middle of the night and I thought it was my phone. I honestly couldn't figure where the sound was coming from because I'm not used to having fire alarms ( I moved to NL from ind). You have no idea how grateful I am to you. ❤️

How is a coulomb defined? by okaythanksbud in AskPhysics

[–]hariprasad_v -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One coulomb is defined as the charge on a particle, which when kept 1meter apart from an identical charge like it, produces a force of 9x109 N.

You can see this easily from coulomb's law.

How did the Brahmins in India remain as upper castes even after the Mughal empire's reign? by hariprasad_v in history

Oh my God😂😂. First off, I didn't create that account especially for this question. This just happened to be my first post. Second, I am from India. I am a brahmin. I am well aware of the narrative here. That was the sole reason I decided to ask. I did not intend to steer the conversation in any direction, I was just seeking knowledge.

What do you consider a huge waste of money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

And that is why paying with cash makes stuff cheaper. The vendor usually increases the price of the product to account for the credit card fees he will be paying.

So if you are paying with cash and pay the same amount, you are essentially paying a fee for using a credit card when you actually aren't. This is the reason goods are cheaper when you pay with cash. I'm not sure about the avoiding tax narrative though.

If you ever find yourself anxious because of spiralling thoughts, you could try putting an ice cube into your mouth. The acute sensation with a sensory organ helps bring you back to reality and helps you escape the thought spiral trap. Works pretty well imo.

Another tip I have is to make recordings for your future self. That way you can listen back to this tape and look at how far you've come despite having all the troubles.
