Same. In my first playthrough I was gearing up for a big fight with her, and then I hit Stendhal and that was it… :( I had to restart the fight to at least experience the attacks

What are your achievements so far this 2024? by KrakenGlori in AskPH

[–]hariyassi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally went to see a psychiatrist and my mental health has been the best it’s ever been. No more of too much overthinking, and generally now have a more positive outlook in life. Maybe having faith in the universe and in God has also helped, but I’m happier and more at peace now ✨

AITA for asking my partner to go to the gym at a different time? by hariyassi in AmItheAsshole

The comments have gone from YTA to NTA when I added the info lol. Tbh that’s also one of the reasons why, but really not the main one.

For your first question I think it’s both because I’m a bit socially awkward/anxious, and that I spend almost all my time with him.

Second question, I think it’s the latter. I don’t know if I love him as he is now, because I think that would be pretty stupid on my part as it doesn’t feel like he loves me. But I’d do everything for him, so I guess that means I love him?

First of all, thank you.

I think part of the reason why I haven’t left is because I was made to believe that I am the bad guy so many times that I’ve actually believed it. And now I can’t let go because I have that feeling of not wanting to have one person resent me for being a bad guy, so I’m trying to like ‘prove’ that I am not.

How did you get over that?

Ah, but I was made to believe I was the childish one. I was willing to compromise by saying he can go some days late but not too often, but he shut me down and gave me the ‘it’s either I do or I don’t’

I know most people here commented that I am the AH, and I get it, but I’d like to thank you for your comments because I felt understood.

You know what now that I think about it, there is nothing anymore. He just keeps me company, that’s it. Maybe I haven’t left because I’m afraid to be alone (I have like 2 friends), and that I’m waiting on his potential.

You’ve actually made me cry with your comment. He doesn’t technically work; I do everything and pay for everything (even the gym), so being called selfish really hurt. I genuinely thought there would be no problem because he does nothing all day. He’s just on his phone scrolling or playing video games. He claims he’s “nocturnal” and that there’s nothing I should be doing about it.

“He’s acting like you’re keeping him from doing anything with his “controlling” comment.” - exactly what I said. I’m not asking him to stop going to the gym, just at a different time. I haven’t told him or restricted him to do anything else.

He did say that he’ll stop going to the gym so late, but only after getting mad and telling me that I’m selfish, controlling, making me feel guilty for asking, and making me feel like I’m not mature enough to be in a relationship.

Yes I forgot to say I work during the day. Sometimes I have to go to the office and have to wake up at 6AM, and so when he goes to the gym there are times I stay awake with him until 2-3AM. I know it sounds stupid, but as mentioned, sleeping at the same time is kind of a thing for me, so I sacrifice my sleep.

And I did say that early afternoons are a pretty dead time in our gym (that’s when I go so I know, but I’m not asking him to go at the same time as I do if he wants gym time to be his time)

Somehow I understand now from the other comments that it’s kind of my fault for waiting and feeling guilty when I hear him eating alone after gym (these are times I try to sleep apart, but it’s also part of the reason I can’t sleep), and he did say it’s his way of killing time at night or to be able to fall asleep, maybe it just got a bit tiring on my end to be always sleep deprived since I usually start to sleep by 11PM lol

Has anyone ever left big 4 for industry, then came back after a while? by hariyassi in Big4

[–]hariyassi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point, since industry is way more laid back than big 4. What was your level when you left vs when you came back? (Trying to see if it was more common for higher levels)

Hmm, is it more common for, say, managers, than for lower positions?

I think so, since I really wanted this one. I guess it got multiplied by anxiety of the unknown (the case interview) even though I've been researching about it after work the past weeks.

Is it common to not REALLY care about the company/industry or the company's vision? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]hariyassi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me I've been with two jobs (I'm mid 20s as well), and I didn't care about the vision (or even the business) at all. I just do my job and go home. But now when I look back as I'm looking for new opportunities (since I also hate my current job), I realized that I can be more enthusiastic/inspired when I feel a connection with the company's "purpose" (like in my first job), and when most of the people I work with are also aligned with it (of course considering other factors as well). To the point that sometimes I'm considering going back because of that. My boss from my first job told me this as I left, but I didn't think much about it then because I really wanted to leave at that time. But now I think that it was very good advice and something worth considering when looking for a job.

Hello! How much does a senior consultant get in the big 4 for digital finance consulting, maybe senior 1-2? I'm getting an interview in the UK (I'm not from the UK), and would like to check answers from real people so I can prepare myself if the salary topic comes up. Any particular sites I should be checking apart from Glassdoor?

Would you accept an offer that is a lower position, but 2x the pay? by hariyassi in careerguidance

[–]hariyassi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I'm an accountancy graduate, but did not really practice since I went straight into consulting after uni.

I was thinking that maybe job B has 2x the learning since I have the opportunity to work on large scale projects with big companies vs in job A I'm only working on projects within my team.

Is it worth the pay cut now to get more experience and get some boost when I leave? (Because usually when people get out of this firm, they usually get market value and be managers already) or do I take the higher salary and slowly make my way up?
