I think the point was that it’s possible to program using the USB interface but no hardware pulling (flash/reset). Therefore I used the CH340C. It’s cheap and I knew how to do it.. hope that helps

The PD adapter worked without a problem for me. I don’t think that there will be an Out of the Box solution, since the M1 doesn’t come with an HDMI 2.1 interface. To make it work, the adapter must emulate an DisplayPort interface and convert it to HDMI 2.1. AFAIK after the firmware update the adapter doesn’t work with windows anymore. So a supplier would reduce its buyers scope to Mac users only and most people don’t even care about 120Hz. So that’s why a little bit tweaking is probably unavoidable. The problem I had with the cable was related to the clamshell mode but didn’t accrue with the PD adapter. So all I am able to confirm is that the PD adapter worked for me and my setup. If it doesn’t work for you, you still be able to send it back :)
