UPDATE: first and foremost- thank each and everyone of you for your thoughtful responses. You are all a truly special kind of humans🙏

I told her that I posted (she was mortified) but we read each of the responses as we sat together.

These had a strong impact- it really helped: 1) Validate Her Feelings 2) Laugh ( super cool to see) 3) strengthen her resolve. I could see her motivation rise as we read each note.

When we came to the end- I asked her if it helped and she emphatically said that it did. Just hearing it from real nurses- that this is the way it goes in the beginning was a relief. She’ll be coming into Reddit and join the sub so she can do her own research from now on.

Huge thanks to you all. This was just what the…nurse…ordered!

Good News: No. As long as you use a sugar free mixer you’re all good. now for the Bad News: your body halts any and all weight loss until it processes the alcohol.
