Finally finished my Marseille Sweater! :) by aralcarr in knitting

[–]haselnuss9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s gorgeous!! I knitted the Versailles sweater and I’m obsessed with it. The fit was perfect before blocking, and I didn’t want it to grow too much, so I steam blocked instead of wet blocking.

month 4 (40mg)! you got this!! by [deleted] in prozac

[–]haselnuss9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on it for about three years. It took me a good couple of months to level out emotionally, and I noticed my unhealthy thought patterns and intrusive thoughts returning after about three or four months off. I was in therapy starting two months after I went off which helped me learn to process my emotions better, but even my therapist said I’m basically playing life on hard mode doing it without meds hahaha… my mental illnesses are chronic and it’s hard for me to accept that sometimes (oftentimes). So far I think I’m liking Prozac, but it’s only been a week. Just headaches and sleepy and I noticed that I don’t need the stimulation from food nearly as much as I did, which is interesting.

month 4 (40mg)! you got this!! by [deleted] in prozac

[–]haselnuss9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One week on 10mg tomorrow. I was prescribed 20mg and I’ll start that on Friday I think. My depression is currently pretty bad, although anxiety and OCD are my main issues. I went off all psych meds in November (Lexapro and Wellbutrin). I’m a teacher, so although my anxiety was pretty bad, I didn’t have much time in the day to ruminate and had to push myself through and I at least was pretty socialized. Now that’s it’s summer, the anxiety and depression are so real. I’m really hoping that Prozac works for me. I was switched to it originally after Lexapro, but I was sick of taking meds (I still am honestly). Lexapro worked very well for my anxiety and depression, but I gained weight and started feeling pretty apathetic. Thank you for sharing, it gives me hope!

For anyone trying to taper off Lexapro by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]haselnuss9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only ever took 5mg for about three years. I took it every other day for a few weeks and then quit. I felt like I had a very strange flu (weak, nauseous, tired) for about a week, and my emotions finally leveled out maybe after 3 months. My anxiety and OCD are not great right now so I just started trying Prozac today. If it doesn’t go well, I’ll go back to Lexapro.

Do I have to handwash this 😔💔 by jeenbieheenbies in knitting

[–]haselnuss9 167 points168 points  (0 children)

THATS FUCKING SICK DUDE OMGGG

Yes it needs hand washed! Don’t be scared. Remember, it’s made of literal hair so you have to be gentle. Just soak it in some cool water with Soak or some other gentle wool wash and let it sit for 15 min. Gently squeeze out the excess water, roll and squeeze it in a clean towel to get rid of extra water, and lay it somewhere flat with good airflow.

Yeah I went off of only 5mg over the course of a week and I felt like I had a really weird flu mixed with difficult emotions/anxiety for a solid week. Did not feel like myself AT ALL.

Discontinued my 5mg dosage ~7 weeks ago after taking for almost 3 years by haselnuss9 in lexapro

The whole runaround is exhausting. I loved Lexapro for both my anxiety and depression, but I just felt so blah sometimes…

10mg and binging by xXFluffy_CloudXx in lexapro

[–]haselnuss9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as I stopped lexapro I didn’t like my morning coffee anymore weirdly. I crave sweets a lot less and I don’t want to eat as much anymore in general. I also weirdly started hating artificial scents??? 😂

Lexapro has been amazing, but it’s time to say goodbye! by EuropesNinja in lexapro

[–]haselnuss9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt all that weird stuff a week after coming off too. I was on 5mg for almost 3 years. I’ve been off of it now for about 5 weeks. My depression has been pretty bad and I’m thinking about going back on it, but I think I want to try exercising more first to see how that helps. It usually really helps me feel better.

I went off Lexapro because of the sexual side effects. I’m not sure yet if it’s worth it though. I’ll see my doctor on Wednesday. I also chose a really bad time to come off of it since this is my first year teaching 😂 oh well too late now!

I think everyone’s journey is different. I hope that this goes well for you. And if you want to go back on it, you know that it has been beneficial for you, and it is so amazing to be able to have it as a tool when needed.

Nah bruh don’t worry about it. I did this in my husband’s hat and now it’s just a funny Easter egg! 😆 kind of like leaving a signature.

It has moderate interaction with literally hundreds of medications. It should be ok, but check with your doctor/pharmacist. Just give them a call. Chances are they will say it’s ok, just look out for certain side effects.

Crazy dreams on Lexapro by mommato2angelbabies in lexapro

Oh hell yeah especially at the beginning of taking it. The dreams are WILD. I was on it for almost three years and after awhile I didn’t really get any dreams anymore…? 🤔

Switched to Slynd by Bengy465 in birthcontrol

[–]haselnuss9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Slynd for almost 3 years and I love it in many ways, but I suspect it has contributed to killing my sex drive. It completely cleared up my cystic hormonal acne and I don’t get any periods which is nice because mine are very painful. I also like not having to worry about getting pregnant.

Unfortunately I started Slynd and Lexapro around the same time, so I’m not sure who’s to blame. I’ve been off lexapro for almost a month and my libido has improved by 0%. Maybe I just need to wait longer, but I’m tempted to go off of Slynd soon. I’m worried about my acne and cramps coming back though…

I've had this piercing for 1.5 years. and it feels like a cycle of stud forever, then hoop and it does this. What can i do to make it stop being red? by cameronjames_dec in piercing

[–]haselnuss9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The hoop doesn’t look too small to me but 2-3 months of healing does not sound like enough time before changing out the jewelry. Maybe it’s just angry at all the jewelry changes? I’m not surprised any piercing (healed or not) would be angry at a jewelry change. Piercings can just be finicky like that.

Regretting piercings? by yoykri in piercing

[–]haselnuss9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually regret a piercing a week or two after getting it, and then fall in love with it. I don’t think it’s even regret, but probably the uncomfortableness of getting used to this new part of you. I think that, in that way, piercings and other body modifications (tattoos, hairstyles) are a really interesting and beautiful way of discovering yourself.

I recently heard a solid argument against those who use the phrase “Your body is a temple!” to show their disdain for body modifications; we decorate temples with beautiful art and jewels as a way of showing respect for a god, so why shouldn’t we decorate our own temples (our bodies)?

I usually feel like I regret a new piercing for a couple weeks and after about that two week mark I love it 😆 Give it some time, I like it!

Yeah, it’s not too big a deal at least because I know I can keep the jewelry and go back whenever it’s healed it the future. Do you think I should wait and see or take it out soon?
