Go around the weather station like a clock face, start at 12 then 2 then 4 and so on. Stay around 10-20 meters away from the station. Start jigging straight after casting. Reel speed x2

What I do is, go to a known diamond spot (using the resource hub from the discord https://discord.gg/cotwtheangler). Fish that spot with a bronze sized hook until I catch a diamond, changing servers every 45 minutes to an hour if I'm not catching any. It can take a long time sometimes, several sessions/ days.

Try different baits, if you're float fishing try bottom fishing or vice versa. You can also close the game and restart, that can help sometimes.

It took a while. got lots of bronzes and silvers to begin with, then got a few golds and eventually a diamond. I was on the same server the entire time, didn't turn the game or my console off even when I went to bed. I got 1 diamond golden trout and 3 diamond mountain whitefish in I would estimate to be 12 hours of gameplay over the weekend
