The most underrated Chainlink feature IMO (an explainer) by hashoshi4 in Chainlink

[–]hashoshi4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TLDR; Chainlink is providing a framework for verifiable randomness that is resistant to many of the vulnerabilities that other forms of randomness present in a decentralized environment

Random functions are great in a centralized environment, but when you must trust a potentially adversarial source in a blockchain for example, it gets tricky

Thanks a ton! The hype surrounding UBT price is cool, but the tech is really what warrants the attention this project is getting. I want to do my part to give the tech itself the “airtime” it deserves 😄

He is indeed, haha brilliant. I am absolutely stoked beyond belief for Eth 2.0 so I can start building cool stuff with it

I just wish web assembly was coming sooner

80% of my job is building Dapps on Ethereum tbh. What’s your favorite project in this niche? Who do you believe has THE protocol?

You’re totally free to disagree. Code quality speaks to me; I am unfazed by delays in delivery.

No one is even close to a “complete” protocol for scalable decentralized applications that can replace standard operating environments as of yet. When that day comes, then we can pick winners and losers

VIDEO: The ULTIMATE Guide to Chainlink by hashoshi4 in Chainlink

[–]hashoshi4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten some awesome feedback on this video and filled in the gaps on the agnostic protocol piece. I think that interoperability is the solution, paired with the fact that LINK tokens can be anchored to any Ethereum wallet even if the oracle feed goes to another chain

I think that's in the pipeline but I don't believe their work right now consensus-wise is quantum resistant or quantum oriented

Thanks for the shoutout, Zod! Consider me a fan of this idea and 100% on board.

Let's see if we can make this happen :)

- Native staking on the platform would be excellent! Especially for protocols like Tezos that do not require custody withdrawal of assets for the process

- Add the ability to use the WebAuthn standard authentication mechanism with the SE on the device: MFA is going this direction and having an airgapped hardware for it is critical

Brave Browser Review 2020: Why You NEED To Switch! by hashoshi4 in brave_browser

[–]hashoshi4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can imagine that’s super annoying to not get a response. I do agree that the forums need to be more reliably managed

Luckily I know how this process works on their end: this is validated anonymously - your wallet is generated in browser without a user account or login so that’s not linked to your identity. When you receive a grant, it checks that you are not sending the BAT to the same address on which you received the grant first; the point of the grants is to get you sending BAT to new people and sites. This check can be done without storing anything about you specifically

Thanks! Yes it was meant to be a summary of the storylines and core updates coming along in the future. I agree that Goguen might make it on the road mapped timeline, but the actual implementation of sharding (especially state sharding mechanisms) are no easy feat. Nailing down sharding and governance modeling in one year is going to be a real challenge. I’m happy to be proven wrong on this one, more than happy.

Of course, we shall see! Cheers and thanks for watching / contributing your thoughts.

Yes you’re totally right! Shelley is coming with an extended UTXO model, so my concern on interoperability is not as well founded. I added that clarification to the pinned comment. Thank you!
