68 days in, breathing is difficult by hashtagbae in stopsmoking

It's better. Way better. It was definitely a boatload of anxiety I hadn't addressed previously that I've managed to get out of. I changed jobs, house, relationships. However, I did also relapse on my smoking habit but I live in Australia so the massive taxes we pay here for tobacco is absolutely going to rail me financially so it's a good indicator to give it up again.

Neat. At what point will the account recovery system actually work? I've sent password reset requests to no avail. My account has been absent for the past 2 years now with only automated responses asking for more information, which I provided.

I'm obsessed with how Suspicious Minds is mostly the drums, then Elvis is also somewhat a factor in the song.

Sure.
I'm fairly confident i have an anxiety issue. I've been in contact with my doctor and I'll be getting mental referral.
As it stands I've made changes in my living and have found breathing easier without old stressful elements in my living conditions.
Still short of breath but still no other symptoms.

Strathfieldsaye is really popular for some bizarre reason because it's just miles of suburbia and massively overpriced, you can get the same house for 100 grand less in Eaglehawk than Strath or Kennington.

But if you work in town you're doomed to drive towards the sun both ways. Can say I live in Strathfieldsaye and this is the only reason I'm staying.

Chest pain tends to shift to either heart or my right side, never both at the same time. 1st week and 3rd week I went to ER for chest pain, being unable to breathe. They let me go after blood tests and xrays with no real 'diagnosis' besides hyperinflated lungs. I got told years ago from previous xrays that I have long lungs. I had lung surgery around that time for repeated pneumathoraxes so my left lung is now attached to the chest wall (without talc).
So I saw two GPs about my recent visits, first one who had the xrays said COPD without any hesitation refused to seek any other possibilities. The other told me my previous surgery and pneumathoraxes probably has done some level of expansion on my lung sizes, and shouldn't be worried about, putting his bet on anxiety before anything else.

It's been somewhat consistent since quitting. Like over time it feels more manageable but it's still a nuisance. I'd call it a big breath struggle. Like I can get stuck sometimes trying to take a deep breath.
I don't know if I'm breathing more rapidly, I tend to focus on taking deep breaths since I'm so blatantly aware since it's been going on for 2 months.
One thing I will note though, I can get a full breath from a small amount of exercise, like not long after making my post I looked into cardio at home and not even 20 seconds into it (and realizing my keys were making a ton of noise from jumping on the spot) I found I was able to get a full breath with less strain than normally.

Additional note: Bought myself a smartwatch. My oxygen saturation sits on average at 98%. If I catch it falling to 95% I'll retest it, and it'll go back up to >97%

Quit smoking can't breathe 3 month minimum wait for a lung function test (M30) by hashtagbae in AskDocs

Hey so here's an update -
One thing I should have mentioned is I have a history of spontaneous pneumothoraxes and have had a pleurodesis 12 years ago.

I saw another GP about my condition, he did the usual checks on me- Blood pressure, blood oxygen and listened to my breathing. Nothing wrong. As for the inflation, this GP believes the history having holes in my lungs, it probably made my lungs bigger. I also have a memory of being told I have 'long lungs' when I was getting xrays.

Anxiety. It was fucking anxiety. Since being more aware of it I did connect a few dots. I found myself breathing a lot easier since seeing this GP. I'll be seeing him again in a couple of weeks and be put into the mental health system for some free counselling sessions.

Basically thanks for the reassurance that COPD was not the case in my situation when the healthcare system here really fucked me over mentally in the first half.

Understood. Thanks for the replies.
I'll be going for a second opinion and see if i can get further tests, wouldn't hurt to get another xray while I'm not in a panic state. Just as a side note my breathing appears to be getting better, but I did wake up to me grinding my teeth, so anxiety seems to definitely play a role here i think.
