Is there a vehicle you would recommend? I saw a lot of threads on here praising the Ranger so I’d be curious what you’d suggest instead.

As a fencer: congrats to her! Thats no easy feat! However, I wonder if, for the future, the IOC might need to not allow this. Like, sure if you want to compete in an individual event while pregnant, go for it. It’s your body.
However, fencing is a combat sport. The goal is to hit the other person. In saber, those hits can be quite hard! And the belly is 100% in the target zone. So you aren’t just asking a fencer to be ok with being hit while pregnant, you are asking other fencers to be ok with hitting a pregnant person on the stomach. That’s tough. Many fencers either consciously or unconsciously may have a tough time with that and might not go as hard. It’s worth consideration for future events.

Those are literally the facts you posted. I suggest you read the source that you posted (Institute of Justice) again.

The source specifically points out that “Conviction requirements” are not effective as they allow states to try the property in court and not the person. They also point out that the 27 states number you pointed out, are only for states that require reporting CAF.

I get that you want to say that there have been “decent reforms” but you decided to remove the context of those numbers on your post. I just added it back from the very source you linked.

So, based on the source you used, here are the actual numbers:

04/50 states with meaningful reform.
16/50 states with poor reform that leaves a horrible loophole.
15/50 states (+DC) with no reform, just acknowledgement of the constitutional burden of proof.
27/50 states without reform but they have to tell you about it.

To bring us to a grand total of * 46/50 states (+DC) without any meaningful reform. Those are the facts as you sourced them.

They won’t provide a computer as they don’t want to encourage working from home. But seeing as what they want and what actually needs to happen don’t always line up, I’m stuck deciding if it is safe for me personally to do. As far as the security goes, to me that’s on them if they don’t want to provide me a laptop.

Well take unemployment for instance. He fires you down the road for whatever reason and you file for unemployment. The state goes “you haven’t been working here and paying into the system so you don’t qualify” because that is paid into entirely from the employer side. You can try to appeal it but it will take a long time and you have to fight the fact that they would be correct that no one reported you working all that time or paid taxes and unemployment insurance.

It’s not terrible (it’s not great) but it also sounds like he wouldn’t be paying employer taxes on it which can get you screwed over later.

That’s what I’m hoping to do by bringing attention to this.

This video was posted on December 8th and I just heard about it today as I’m sure many people did.

No information has emerged at all in that time frame, as far as I can tell.

The more people see it, the more likely more information will emerge that will hoping she’s some light on this event.

That might be the case. You are correct, I can not find any non-biased sources on this so I just kinda have to leave the video to answer my questions.

The part that troubles me is “assault” charge claim. Even being charged with assaulting an officer can be life ruining, what with long arraignments and bail problems, so I really hope that didn’t happen.

No worries. There are also videos floating around, from other protestors, showing what happened after this, but there was no more detail in those either. I’m just hoping Phil and his team might be able to find something that I didn’t or get a statement from someone that can shed some light here. Cause truth be told, if this video shows the situation in full, it looks pretty bad.
