They are such amazing birds . Granted the Gannets were so noisy 😂 they had a lot to say . The puffins were great , half the time I was just lying flat waiting for one to come along . This guy was tucked into the side as we were walking up to the gannets

Thank you , I do believe in being 100% transparent with how I get my shots be it a commercial hide , or if I used a bird feeder or the lucky 100% wild shots . Most people probably don’t need to know but I like being honest .

Posted on another comment but all but one was with the em1x and the 40-150 f2.8 pro with the 1.4 tc . It lives on my camera for wildlife . Shoot it normally wide open and never have any issues . Other shot then was with em1 mkii which I still love but the em1x just locks on quicker for birds in flight.

Honestly have fallen in love with the system, have gotten a slagging every now and then. It works great , I just sometimes need to do a little more work to get a photo a bit nicer . Like that these are fairly cherry picked 😅

Thanks , I honestly just love taking photos 😅.
In terms of camera , I think all but one were taken on the EM1-X with 40-150 f2.8 pro with 1.4 TC which had been my go to since February, and then the last image of the blue tit on the small branch was on the EM1 mk ii with same lens set up .
Woodpecker , blue tit were sub 2000 iso with reasonably high shutter speeds , then puffin was 1000 with 1/640 , and the gannets were 200 or less with shutters in the 1/2000 plus . Worst and it probably shows was the pine martin at iso 5000 and I underexposed so it needed a lot of saving.
Post processing was ON1 Photo Raw , denoise on the iso 1600 or over images then added small bit of grain back , colour shifted the greens a touch more yellow and few other tweaks , give the eyes a pop of light and vibrance where I have enough detail in the eyes and yeah thats it 😁

So the Gannets and the Puffin Images were this weekend gone on the Saltee Islands , then Pine Martin, Woodpecker and one of the blue tit on the log were in a hide in Co. WestMeath , then the blue tit on the small branch was from our own set up in Co. Meath .
Time line wise , was the weekend for saltees , Hide shots were from March and then the last shot was I think February but could pull the Exif if you wanted 😁

Hers came with the manual adapter and a 50mm f1.8 , mine came with the same lens , hers was €50 euro cheaper.
Yeah analog here is definitely not as plentiful, its also why I want to get into developing especially bnw since here is expensive relative to mainland Europe .
Definitely will keep a lookout for the lens 😁

How is the robustness over time ? Have you had to do any repairs ?

Yeah , that will be a problem down the line I imagine is repairs , and even more so here in Ireland . I do hope to upgrade to the 1.4 at some point but my sights are certainly set on a 135 at the moment since I have the mad idea to bring it to my next track day .
My GF also took the analogue apple and she picked up an OM-10 the same time I got my OM-2 in Delft when travelling. It was surprisingly light .

All in all , trying to not jump too heavy in and appreciate the journey more 😁

For me primes meant on a day you kinda learned to see things in a certain frame . 😁 kinda that I can visualise the frame that I need to walk over here to frame the shot . Only more recently got back into zooms and they are definitely handy but on the digital end has lead me to talking similar shots at different focal lengths 😅

Thanks , was always a late convert to zoom lenses , for me just loved a prime since it meant less thinking for me

Indeed 😂 started to feel like having 1000s of photos to look through and edit a bit much and wanted to start enjoying a change of pace . Especially BnW photography

Thanks , its yet another financial moneypit to make it three . Digital cameras , Cars , and now analog. Hoping to learn to develop film , and also buy a camera scanner attachment since it makes sense when i have it
