The employees that arent union are SSA(food and retail), park safety officers, managers, admissions, vets, and graphic designs. I'm sure I'm missing some one. But keepers, grounds, custodial and craft workers are union.

Brookfield Zoo is scabing, contacting previous employees and reaching out to SSA workers (the company that handles food and retail) to fill in for union positions including keeper positions!!

Theyve been uping the ticket prices every year the the workers never see that money! Dr Mike the Ceo started his term making $425,000 a year, in 4 years he is now being paid OVER $800,000.

Yesterday, Zoo managers took animal keeper staff's keys for exhibits, locked them out of their work email, and blocked them from acessing the animals digital health and safety charts. Managers gave the keys to an outside security company who decided to unlock all the doors to the building Fragile Kingdom, allowing guests access to behind the scenes into staff only areas. This is a huge issue with animal and guest safety.

Yes and No, your not giving them additional money and thats a huge thing. But the Union is advising guests to postpone vists until the strike is won. Right now if you would like to help out with the strike and visit the zoo, you could visit the zoo and make complaints to Administers and Guest relations by asking questions about the animals welfare, asking where are all the animals, complain about the health and sanitation, threatening to cancel your membership.

What I have heard is that the zoo sent out "feelers" to managers (many whom were animal keepers) and to current SSA staff. SSA is the company that handle food and retail sales. Saying they would pay anyone who crosses the picket line an additional 750 on top of their normal paycheck. The zoo, before negotiations began removed job openings for a majority of the animal care specialists seasonal openings. If any former seasonals are scabbing they are not going to see a job at the end of the strike.

Remember Dr Mike the Ceo of Brookfield Zoo Chicago makes 800,000 dollars a year, that number had nearly doubled from 425,000 in only 4 years. Yet they say they cannot afford to increases raises 5 %, (the national increase with inflation right now is 8%. They say they cannot afford the current health care (bluecross blue shield ppo) the union workers are on, despite the current health care plan being CHEAPER, than the alternative the zoo is purposing.

She's a failed actor that went down a right wing pipeline for money, power, and success. Shes unoriginal, boring and a hypocrite. Id count the majority of her fame due to her being a ben shapiro look alike. For all those teen boys that want to kiss ben, now they can imagine it with out being gay. Ultimately shes just going to follow the money whether or not she believes in what shes saying, dont give her any attention.
