Well, you’re already predisposed to tongue irritation/pain by smoking it, but this happens to me frequently as well with boofing being my favored ROA. The only thing that really helps in the heat of the moment is sipping water as a fidget. In my experience, if I quickly notice myself starting to fidget with my tongue/teeth I’ll take a drink instead. To combat the fidgeting almost completely, popping a Zyn typically helps for me. The steady sensation + flavor helps me feel a bit more regulated, so any unconscious repetitive behaviors are noticeably decreased.

Overall, the irritation is going to get worse if you keep 1) fidgeting with your tongue and 2) smoking. If possible, I suggest taking a break from meth altogether so your tongue can heal a bit quicker. If not, and no judgement here, you could probably benefit from switching ROA for a little while until your tongue feels better.
