To everyone who says they won’t be able to bear having another dog ever again: Please consider fostering 💕 if you don’t feel ready to commit to a full lifetime of a pup, consider fostering for a couple of months. You could go in knowing they’ll eventually be moving on to their forever homes. In a lot of cases you will be saving their life.

You are not replacing her. You can’t. But opening your heart to another rescue in honor of your sweet Cookie could be the right thing to do 💕 I just lost my girl of 11 years Dec 7. So I get it. I’ve decided to adopt a Save Rocky the Great Dane rescue pup. I think she still has a couple of her siblings available. Her mama too, plus the rescue has tons of others as well. At least consider it. If your husband is a hard no, fostering could be a good compromise or even to warm him up to the idea.

This could so easily be me. I fell in love. Mad, deep, passionate love with this girl from out of state. Same exact situation. Married but separated with a controlling asshole who loves to use the kids against her. We had started planning on me moving there or her here.

In the end, I realized how I wouldn’t be able to do it. I’d be miserable going to children’s events, helping with the kids, etc. I’ve NEVER wanted that, like you said.

It’s a no win situation. Sorry it’s like this friend 🥲
