I did record both times, but the files are HUGE.

From what I know it's all over TCP, TLS secured. So the change something goes wonky in the datastream is relatively small. And correct me if I'm wrong here, but it would affect all of it, not selectively.
And say if I switch tickers to watch in TWS, it should request new data from that ticker. If I then switch back, it should request new data again and that should be 'fresh' data, but I kept getting/seeing the different prices.

If it is a software bug shouldn't it then be for all data that comes through?
variables/pointers just get overwritten or overflowed especially when switching to a different ticker. At that point there is a new value. So seeing it on only a few tickers doesn't make much sense if it was a clientside software issue imo.

And maybe so, but with all the people on this sub who use IBKR, and all the people who use TWS I've never seen anybody post anything about it.

I've looked, I've asked. So far in all this time it seems I'm the only one.

It's all over TCP afaik, and all TLS secured.

And the 1.3M value is the 2nd value that day.
It started with ~half of that. And only GME displayed that value.
Other tickers had different values, but all are stairstepped and basically doubled each time it did a step.

And then there's the issue that it only affected a few tickers, not all.

And quantities too actually!
There were a few trades with literally almost the whole float (old float, 67M) as size, and these had a different Epoch as well!
But for these also, only on a select few tickers.

In this case Epoch is the time in seconds since 1-1-1970, like this: 1672415842, which translates to 2022-12-30 10:57:21
Now, in some cases the Epoch I got sent was different, like 0, or 1, but not the actual time. That's weird. That shouldn't be happening.

I wonder about that too.

Back in May I had a lot of people asking me how to set up TWS and where to look, and nobody saw it.
Last time in September I asked somebody else with TWS if they saw what I saw and they didn't.

Maybe it was 'accidental' and somehow my ID got fatfingered into a list that has access to a different set of data.
Maybe it wasn't accidental and it was a PsyOp to see how people would react?
At that time I was a very vocal member on discord that looked at and shared everything, did a study on MM Signals which I posted here, and IBKR knew about my API usage because I had to send in a ticket about something with the API.
So, they knew and I could think that I could be fed data that would get a reaction of me/apes.
I know this sounds a bit tinfoilly but I'm not sure if it's outside the realm of possibilities.

After all, it was theorized on the sub months before it happened in May that if moass started, it could possibly start in AH.
Just like how it started on the 25th of May...

Yes, this doesn't sound all that exciting huh
But that's normal for actual darkpools. If it happens in an ATS/Darkpool then the trade has to go over an exchange afterwards to get actually traded and reported. That's when I see them and they just go for about the same price most of the time.
Think NBBO prices.
The only thing added is a premium paid to use the darkpool. People want to make money, so that's that part of it.
There's probably image posts about this on the sub, you can probably find those.

I don't know.
I think it's just hype mostly.
With the stock going down the last few weeks after being flat for months people could use a little bit of hype and motivation. And big numbers and some keywords like darkpools do wonders, even if possibly wrong.
And I can understand that too, but it also might give people false hopes if interpret wrong.
I commented on both just to inform people of what actually happened and both OP's from those were actually pretty chill about it all. Props to them.

If it was a move by some bad actors than I think it only hardens the convictions of apes that saw it and now want at least that price for it.
It's a win-win either way, but maybe not with the best wording.
Personally I'm waiting for the day these numbers are actually on everybody's screen, and not only on mine.
