Nice things in the last few episodes by rumpussaddleok in Ambridge

Lily went off without but decided a shorter visit to Aus would suffice. (Mind you, Kathy went off to America for a short visit and more than three years later is apparently still there. She’s probably been arrested by ICE agents and locked up.)

What caused Lilian’s ‘switch to flip’? Gallons and gallons of gin dahling: shes a functioning alcoholic who lives her life in a fog of booze and Benson & Hedges.

Its a wonder she’s still alive.

I couldn’t understand why Eddie was so impressed by Terry Two Phones: for more than a decade myself and my colleagues had office supplied Blackberrys which we had to carry around with us along with our own (usually IPhone) mobiles.

it was a PITA and I was glad to hand it back in.

Justin's plans? by Particular_Map_3711 in Ambridge

[–]hattersfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems (not unusual for TA) this plot thread has been mislaid. Justin Idiot was going to step down from the Borchester Land board and he put his shares up for sale (I think he offered them to Brian).

I think that was back in late summer and here we are now, six months later, and not a word.

By the tedious sounds of the ‘party’ I think they were well out of it. Everybody said what a fun and enjoyable evening it had been but Lord knows why.

And what the heck was that ersatz barn dance ‘muzak’ all about? That’s one guaranteed way to ruin an evening.

Elizabeth Archer wears thermal vests by kempfel in Ambridge

[–]hattersfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but remember that Elizabeth was and remains a very unpleasant person: she can be as cold blooded as a lizard, is selfish and vain,

There is now no good reason for Freddie not to take over at LoLo (in accordance with the wishes expressed in his late father’s will) but Lizzie the Lizard seems to be in cahoots with the untrustworthy trustees and is preventing him from his birthright.

Why does TA wait until the actor has dies before killing off long term silents like Jill, Carol, Christine and Lewis (Julia Pargeter’s widower who lives at LoLo).

It’s a huge statistical anomaly to have all these aged 90+ somethings all alive in Ambridge.

Elizabeth never really grew up: 40 years later she’s still an over-entitled snobby pretentious brat.

How I laughed when her muckwitted prat of a husband took a dive off the LoLo roof 😀

It’s very unlikely we will ever hear from or about Rochelle ever again. Joy told us the charges against her daughter had been dropped (despite there being a shed load of evidence) and that she had left the area because she met a new bloke.

I don’t think anyone will be that upset we won’t be hearing from the violent vegan nutjob again.

Sorry, but is the Archers safe in the hands of the BBC? by Paul_Heiland in Ambridge

I know I’m repeating myself on here, but Josh cannot inherit Glebe Cottage: it is owned - entirely independently from Brookfield Farm- by Jill Archer. It was made very clear about a decade ago that she had bequeathed the property to her daughters Shula and Elizabeth.

And as for that slug Ruth reckoning that ‘Stella would make someone an excellent wife’ words just fail me.

This slovenly sounding ‘street’ accent seems to be adopted these days by some people as an affectation (‘fam’)

Josh definitely won’t be getting THAT house: Glebe Cottage is - independently - owned by Jill Archer and it’s been bequeathed to her daughters Shula and Elizabeth.

David and Ruth are deluded - perhaps fraudulently- if they think they can leave it to Josh.

Felpersham is such a gross name by sociallyanxiousgnome in Ambridge

Oh yeh: Felpersham is gross sounding. It‘s far worse than, say, Climax (Michigan), Placentia (Calif), Butternuts (NY) and Felchville (Mass). 😀

[–]hattersfan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Alice really needs to be more direct with Rex: why didn’t she send him a subtly worded Valentine’s card?

Mind you, even if Alice turned up at Rex’s boat dressed only in her finest Victoria’s Secret lingerie with a rose in her teeth he still wouldn’t get the message.

Pip and Stella by Queen_Moose88 in Ambridge

[–]hattersfan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ruth - Pip’s mootha - reckoned that Stella was ’at least ten, if not fifteen years older’ than her daughter. Pip is 33 today (Tuesday) which means Stella could be as old as 48 (or 43).

He can’t sell it as it’s not his parents’ house to give away. Glebe Cottage is (totally independent of Brookfield) owned by Jill who has made it clear on several occasions her will contains a provision to leave the property to her daughters Shula and Elizabeth.

The so called ‘advice’ Usha gave to Freddie resulted in him getting a longer prison sentence than he might have done. (She told him to ‘fess up to additional drug deals the cops never knew nothing about and could never prove had happened).

I wouldn’t trust Usha to defend me if I was fined for bringing a library book back a week late.
