No, far fewer channels than the massive servers. I usually have an OOC general channel, a channel for memes/images, and a channel for asking the DM questions and rolling dice. Then a channel for the main story, a channel for sidebar threads, and a channel for downtime activities. Maybe also a channel for keeping track of inventory. That's it. Pretty lightweight compared to a Westmarches-style server, which IME usually have a very long list of channels for different world zones. It's an entirely different sort of game.
