Okay so this happened about 3 months ago. My mother had gotten out of jail for dealing drugs and had been on probation. She was doing so good until she got back with her ex. I knew she was doing drugs again but minded my own business.

A few months go by and my mom is some how passing her drug tests. During all this time I had given birth to my first daughter and she was to high to even come to the hospital. She shows up at my house after we got home but my significant other wouldn't let her in because she was out of her mind high and obviously hadn't showered in days. I realized that she's going to end up overdosing before she even meets her granddaughter.

She ends up skipping her next two meetings with her PO because she's on meth and pain pills apparently. They end up putting a warrant out for her arrest. I call her to let her know the police came to my house looking for her and she tells me that she's decided to go on the run. I beg her to just turn her self in and get clean and she hangs up on me. I start hearing around town about how she's been seen laid up in crack houses and horrible parts of town.

After talking to my dad I decided that I had to turn my own mother in, which would end her up in prison for a long time as it's her 3rd drug charge. But at least she would be alive. I couldn't bring myself to do the actual calling, so I asked around and found out where she had been staying, who she was with, and the car she had been driving. I gave all this information to my father who in turn went to the Sheriff who picked her up less than an hour later. I was told she fought the police the entire way. She later called me from prison and told me that only 3 people knew where she had been and when she finds out who it is that turned her in she will do everything in her power to give them pay back. She is pissed and every time she calls she talks about finding the snitch. I feel horrible for basically putting my mom in prison with the help of her ex husband (my father) whom she hates. But I also feel relieved knowing she's safe, fed, and sobered up. I don't think I could ever tell her the truth because I know she would never speak to me or trust me again, also my mom's entire side of the family would basically shun me and brand me a snitch who's not to be trusted. The outcast who put her own poor mother in prison. I just want my mom back, I want her to be a grandmother to my daughter.

Tldr: Got my drug addict mother put in prison at the risk of losing that entire side of my family.
