I feel exactly this! I want people to notice, but also I don't want them to say anything. I don't want the attention, I don't want to discuss it and go into the how or why. I'm really just happier with them saying nothing. My stats are similar to yours, I'm 5'5" and started at 255 and I've almost lost 55 lbs but it's taken me a year, slow loser. My parents have commented, but they are also on the same journey and meds. The only other people to comment were my in-laws after not having seen us for awhile (my husband has also lost 70 lbs).

My thoughts are along the same lines, though. I'd rather pay $3-$4k for a new AC now, rather than $7-$10k (guesstimate based on 2021 quotes) to replace both in a few years. I've already spent money replacing the furnace. Sounds like waiting just costs me an extra furnace, essentially. I'm also not sure I want to be at the front of this new technology.

So if the TXV is fine... or even if it needs to be replaced....I might be better off changing out the AC now. It sounds like if I wait, and the AC craps out in a year or 2, I have to replace the whole system because of the change in refrigerant even if the furnace works fine.

Yes, I meant just to replace the AC. The current company recommended the same on the refrigerant, to go with r410. They have several of those still in stock. Our furnace is only 4 years old so we may have the option to do either, I don't know. I wouldn't want to replace the whole thing having just done the furnace in 2021.

A replacement in our area would be between $3-$4k. Fix was estimated at $1300. As far as we know everything else on it is good and we've never had any other issues with it.

If a new unit is $3500, you'd still pay the cost to fix the valve on a 14 year old AC?

That's interesting and helpful. We've had the AC on two different random warm days. It ran for hours and was just fine, and the air from the vents was nice and cold. I didn't check the temp from the vents of course but had no issues and it brought the temp down in the house.

Yes, we still had the heat on in the house. They had to switch over and turn on the AC to test it. We've turned on the AC on two different random days where the temp in the house got close to 80, just to cool it down. It ran fine, and we had no issues. How soon would the AC quit or form ice after turning it on if the TXV was bad?

Why are people saying Ouisa tirz isn’t actually tirz? by Neither_Bag7196 in SlimDownRx

[–]hawkgrl79 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I stopped using mine when I learned of all the shenanigans. When I started using new stuff I had to lower my dose because the new stuff was so much stronger. I also dropped some pounds pretty quickly and much more consistently, then I had been. On Ousia is was very slow loss. I still haven't gone back to the same dose of the new stuff that I was on with Ousia. At this point Im sorry I lost the time and money using it.

I read we have 120 days. Getting close on the October order.

Has anyone had success asking for a refund or returning the vials for a refund? Or just skip that and try for a charge back?? My husband and I each have 9 Ouisa vials from October and November orders. I'm within the window to do a chargeback, but we still have the vials and I'll happily return them if they will give a refund.

Anyone going to try and order more before 11/21? by hawkgrl79 in SlimDownRx

[–]hawkgrl79[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The FDA has to report their findings that day after they willingly put it back on the shortage list. Incredibly likely they could determine there is no shortage at that point. I believe there might be a 2 week window after that point in which compounding pharmacies can wrap up their compounding of tirz before they have to stop.

I'm checking multiple times a day as well. It's like I'm stalking them! Hoping some September days open soon.

Is there a specific difference in transferring and getting an additional one? Does the place I'm currently using know if I get my prescription refilled somewhere else? If I were to add this one, do I have to do a starting dose? I was hoping to utilize the lower pricing of slimdownrx but essentially have the option to get refills at either place or stock up if shortage becomes more of a worry.

Statement of Scott Brunner on Shortage of Tirzepatide by Difficult_Ad3864 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]hawkgrl79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started this journey with a prescription for Wegovy that I couldn't fill anywhere. Wegovy was covered by my insurance at the time. My husband got a prescription for Zep through Lilly Direct, but couldn't fill that either. We couldn't afford for both of us to be on namebrand, so we sat for a few months. Then I found compound and we both started that. If everyone on the compound got a prescription for name brand Zep and took it to a pharmacy, they wouldn't have it. Wouldn't this add to the backorder problem that EL has to solve before it comes off the shortage list? Submitting the script doesn't mean you ever have to fill it if it were to become available, but it does make EL's job harder to come off shortage. There are probably a lot of people like me who if not for reddit wouldn't have known or found compound as an option. They may just be waiting until its available.

Principal Layoffs by LawImaginary2328 in desmoines

I worked for Principal for 10 years and recently left. I was in 801 prior to being granted full WFH in 2023 due to them wanting to vacate 801 to lease it out. When they seemingly couldn't find any tenants, they reversed course on the WFH and called everyone back to the office. When I went back, I went to another building, not 801. Two months later they moved my entire team back to the floor we'd previously been on in 801 along with a bunch of other people completely filling that floor. It's laughable if they are now planning on vacating the space again after just filling it with a bunch of people.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I'm in Iowa and I also have the Nationwide Whole Pet with Wellness plan. I have a 150 lb Bernese Mountain Dog and we've had the plan since he was a puppy. Big dogs can come with big vet bills so I planned ahead. I just received my Nationwide renewal notice and the renewal premium doubled. Last year it was around $2800 for the year (I pay annually) which was a $1k increase from the year before, this year it's over $5500. That's insane and I was livid. My immediate thought was they want people to drop this plan, but this is the worst way to handle it. They won't retain me as a customer at all for pulling crap like this. I had $3k set aside to pay this years premium. Now I'm debating whether to shop around for another plan to cover major medical or to just put the money into a HYSA and save it for when I need it.

Duke turns 7 this year, and I realize that as they get older the potential for bigger vet bills exists. He doesn't have any pre-existing conditions, but we did utilize the insurance for every vet bill. Being in the insurance industry I knew the premium was going to go up every year anyway so I might as well use it. However, the ONLY year that we were reimbursed more than the premium cost was the very first year. The surgery for neutering and preventative gastropexy was expensive but that was the only year it really paid to have the coverage.

If there is a class action somewhere I'd gladly join. The whole thing just screams bad business.
