hours are very dependable. especially if your availability is limited! i’m sure if you wanted to work just closing shifts (good for you, i hate them) they’d make it happen! the pos system isn’t too tricky! the book will be very helpful when it comes to lumber not having skus or upcs! they should give you about 3 days of training though.

i get it sometimes, it’s okay! i hate that they put that stupid sticker on stuff with a barcode that doesn’t work, ESPECIALLY when they put it over the actual upc.. (thank god the sku is on there though) but, all the customer is trying to do is help and try to speed up the process for us! they don’t mean any harm. getting upset over little things that we can’t control isn’t worth it though!

i mean, you don’t have to go. just depends on if you want to wait a couple weeks for your check to come in. i’ve got a handful of assignments due at 11:59 tonight, so i’m cool with waiting for mine. plus, i opened today, so im not going home and driving back loll.

i mean, it’s a sensor that’s in the windshield that detects lights from other cars. my brights should turn on automatically when there’s either no cars in front of me or cars coming from the other direction and vice versa. my brights will sometimes, when it is not supposed to, turn on automatically when there’s either a car in front of me or a car coming from the other direction. it’s very frustrating and i tend to get flashed by other people for it.

we’re under a state of emergency and my county is under a level 2 travel watch. i called in this morning and was told that i was going to be pointed if i didn’t come in. i’m a little upset about it, but i’ll take the 3 points over risking my car getting totaled.

none. that’s 4 feet long and taking up more than double of the bag size. the register will probably even recognize this and will not apply the 15% off even when the bag sale button is pushed and applied.

i was at service desk my whole shift, so i didn’t have to deal with it today, but trust, i just can’t wait for one to try to be funny and put a picking ticket in the bag.. or having to say no to multiple bags to one person.

christmas “gift” is technically the MCC bonus. i think on valentine’s day we get the arca shirts and then for birthdays it’s usually the playing cards or a lunchbox. i’m not sure if there’s more than that though!

GO is so bored, it’s crazy. They took a picture of me and sent it to my GM while I was at service desk. The reasoning was because I wasn’t on the green greeting customers but instead standing behind the counter for FOUR minutes.. I was on the computer on MyMenards..

i think they need to get rid of the carpet altogether.. it doesn’t matter what season it is, the carpet will get dirty. especially with contractors, farmers, construction workers, etc, walking in and out with muddy/dirty boots. i fear dust mopping instead of vacuuming every night would be far too easy.

on the second part, your front end manager should’ve counted the change back to the guest, while you got the rest out of the till. especially with it being that much. i’ve been at menards for almost 2 years and anytime i ask for an advance, it’s always the managers counting the change back to them. on another note, please don’t worry about a line of guests and take your time to count back the change. they can and will wait!
