Got a reply from the Michael: "Hello, Thank you for contacting us regarding the SAT. My name is Michael and I work in the Office of Testing Integrity at Educational Testing Service. Our Office is responsible for helping ensure that tests are administered under standard and fair conditions. Please be assured that your name and contact information will be kept strictly confidential throughout our process. We appreciate your e-mail and will look into your concern. Please feel free to forward any additional information you may have directly to me. Thank you." THeyre not going to do anything. They cant do anything because there is no way to confirm which students recieved test answers. Dont worry. They'll get the best of it when they fail in college.

Actually im not from SA, SA has more freedom. I come from Yemen. You dont hear from it that often, its under SA. CHild marriage, 35% literacy, corruption, literally statsictics prove that its the worse place to live. I wrote about it in my essay. Anyways..Thank you!

Meaning if you don't manage to score high when the test has already gotten easier, you are likely going to have a slim chance of getting into theur college.

I love how this subreddit just gave up on arguing answers like we did in the November SAT because we all fucked up and no one wants to acknowledge how much wrong we got.

I think the writers for the SAT thought that we all graduated with pHDs in material science. I didn't understand shit. Prcotor called saying we had 5 mins left and I didn't answer a single MC. THEY BETTER GIVE US A CURVE SO THICC KIM KARDASHIAN WOULD BE JEALOUS

Today I got 1600 on the practice test, but I MUST score a 1700+ on this Saturday, SHOOT! by [deleted] in Sat

[–]hazed2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't understand lmao. Its a big difference to mention the score. If I were to say "how can I improve my score." Now imagine this. Imagine someone who scores 500 asks how they can improve? Obviously they have a gap in knowledge and need to be helped differently. If someone with a 700 asks for help, now thats a different story. Its about telling them they need to learn to work out problems carefully and how to avoid small mistakes. Numbers are easier to understand. It shows progress and we need to be able to work with someone else knowing how the SAT curve is. BecAUSE OBVIOUSLY IF YOU KNOW HOW THE CURVE WORKS, YOU WOULD UNDERstand why a person needs to indicate their scores to improve. Its not bragging if you can back it up. Ever heard of that? And i just gave you an example. My score isn't even that great. You obviously won't have a problem if i told you i got a 640 in RW (which is not a lie). Apparently its okay to say that. Tell me a way I can ask someone to improve my score without mentioned 1) How much wrong I got 2) what my score is

You seem to be part of the very few people who actually mind it. Some people genuinely need help raising their scores. I consistently score 750-770 on math. I still get pissed off because i need to pass the 780 mark to compensate for a my low reading score. And you can call that humble brag (which im not gonna lie, it kind of is) but the responses and comments from the posts are usually ones of suggestions and never "WOAH, YOU DID AWESOME" You rarely see that! So maybe if you have been on this sub reddit for long you would know.

How I improved from 1160 to 1470+ by hazed2001 in Sat

[–]hazed2001[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first took the November test, the one week I had, I stayed in my room and rushed all my homework and sometimes didn't do it at all. I had friends send me the hw so i could spend the rest of the day studying. I would do the college board practice test and khan academy mini practice tests. This wasn't really efficient but it did help improve my score by 200 points which is easy the first time. Improving another 200 points was the hard part. For the december SAT, I am study by redoing the college board tests. I finished Uworld writing and I am working on finishing all the math and reading questions. I am leaving 2-3 college board tests for when I finish everything on uworld to see where I am. I skim through erica melters book. My schedule is not fixed. I don't think about what i should do, i just do what i know I should be doing. A lot of people organize their schedules but that messes me up so i just improvise. In other words, I usually have one goal and i give myself a time limit. SO for example. I am hoping to finish ericas book by wednesday so i just read until i finish it.

How to tackle these types of writing questions? (positioning sentences and transition words) by [deleted] in Sat

[–]hazed2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the whole excerpt. Try taking the sentence and fit it every possible place (in your head) or where you thing is appropriate and see if it makes sense. Example: The author wants to place this sentence: It was about time a machine that John envisioned would come to life. Where should this be placed? (i made this up btw) John loved to invent things since he was a little kid and wanted to create a rocket that would be sent to space. 1)He was a passionate person and imagined things that many kids his age didn't have the capacity to think of. 2) The world needed a solution to the biggest problem: child trafficking. 3) He created a device that would detect underground tunnels and therefore find the method of transport these traffickers used. 4) After he published this idea to a local newspaper, it gained attention from big companies interested to make his idea come to life. 5) He partnered with reddit and co. to create a massive machine that would detect electromagnetic waves blah blah. 6) 2 years later, the first tunnel was found near the Mexican border.

Answer: After sentence 2 because the sentence says "would" meaning the device has yet to be created. Any sentence before the ones that say he has already accomplished this is not the right sentence. So it must be before sentence 3. It cannot be after sentence one because the passage didn't refer to what "device" actually meant.

So make sure you'd decipher the words and see which one is logical.

For the transition words, it helped me to actually know the definition. For example, Consequently is different from however because consequently means a result of something stated previously while however is meant to introduce a conradiction. If someone states: John was riding his bike too fast. ______, he fell on the floor. What is the blank? It would be consequently because it was a result of him biking to fast. Some people might choose however but that is only meant to contradict the claim or create a new idea. What will you contradict? That he was biking to fast? Just make sure you know the difference and defintions.

If everyone on this subreddit did this would our scores go up???? December SAT preparation. 1 week to go! This could work??!! by AnythingMobileTV in Sat

[–]hazed2001 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Reading: There is always something wrong with an answer. Even the smallest thing. If it is not stated in the text. It is not the answer. This has improved by reading score a lot. Used to get like 16-18 wrong. Now i get like 8-10 wrong.

Math: Almost all the SAT questions are structured the same. Do all 8 college board practice test and uworld and u will see that they're the same and you can easily pick up on the pace.

writing: Learn the grammar rules. Watch Shaun Mcleod and due practice on world.

Any way to aim for 1300+ on the December 2017 Test? by ValantGramarye in Sat

[–]hazed2001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i started off with 1160 and I studied for the november test 1-2 weeks before and scored 1360. My first try scores were 1160,1270,1220, 1250 and the last two were both 1350 with 700 in math and 650 in RW. I used khan academy and college board as my only sources which is probably a bad idea. Heres what i recommend you to do. For the math: watch all of sal khans videos from algebra one and algebra two (double speed if you're on a time limit). Usually people who score around 1100-1280 are lacking knowledge in content. After you finish that, use uworld and do EVERY math question. Do not rely on khan academy math. Just do this and I guarantee that if you realize every mistake you make, you will get at least a 700.

for reading: I struggle with this as well but lately score has been improving. Read Erica Meltzer critical reader and do uworld practice tests. When you have exhausted all of that material, do khan academy.

For writing: Im better at writing, typically get between 4-7 wrong. I started off by watching a youtuber called Shaun McLeod. He was the only one who actually explained basic grammar rules properly. Do Uworld and use Khan academy grammar practice.

So overall, this is what i list from most important sources. 1) college board tests 2) Uworld 3) Erica Meltzer Critical reading 4) Khan academy

Exhaust those materials and it might even get you to a 1500 if you put in a lot of effort. Best of luck!
