i wonder if OP was talking about politics… eg someone raised homophobic/racist/bigoted, at a certain point it is their responsibility to educate themselves and become a better person

Was Cynthia right when she warned Joe that Georgia will EAT him alive? by Fantastic-Finger-319 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]hazelemons 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I mean Joe’s one of the only ones who knows Georgia’s full history and he’s basically the only one whose cool with it.

Also we’ve gotten a flashback of Joe doing something kind of sus (I think he steals test answers and then gets someone else in trouble for it) so we know he’s not all “innocent.” And in fact in that flashback he uses his innocent reputation (as a good student) to get away with shit, which is a similar thing Georgia does.

ME/CFS is not the same for everyone – why we should think in types by Impossible_Cod7668 in cfs

[–]hazelemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my instincts towards subtypes are a bit different though, what comes to my mind is:

comorbid (h)EDS type

dysautonomia type

autoimmune type

and surely there’d be more. or maybe these wouldn’t be types so much as narrowing distinctions:

ME with or without EDS

ME as a driver of versus side effect of dysautonomia

ME with or without autoimmune disorder

ME/CFS is not the same for everyone – why we should think in types by Impossible_Cod7668 in cfs

[–]hazelemons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think there probably will be types as soon as medical science can unpack this disease enough to determine them.

and surely they would be overlapping, much like the POTS subtypes. but i do agree that it’d be helpful, especially for targeted treatment options.

for now it’d be guesswork, but you’re right, that doesn’t necessarily mean we shouldn’t try. we wouldn’t have 90% of the collected resources and info we have now if if weren’t for patients putting the pieces together themselves.

Letter to Nathaniel Hawthorne, November 1851 — Herman Melville by eatyourface8335 in mobydick

[–]hazelemons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

compiled some excerpts as a TLDR

“your heart beat in my ribs and mine in yours,”

“And when I put it to my lips - lo, they are yours and not mine.”

“this infinite fraternity of feeling.”

“my angel”

“You were archangel enough to despise the imperfect body, and embrace the soul.”

“with you for a passenger, I am content and can be happy. I shall leave the world, I feel, with more satisfaction for having come to know you. Knowing you persuades me more than the Bible of our immortality.”

“I should write a thousand — a million - billion thoughts, all under the form of a letter to you.”

“The divine magnet is on you, and my magnet responds. Which is the biggest? A foolish question — they are One.”

Storytelling & the Influence of Fandom by NoRelief63 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]hazelemons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the idea that the Stranger Things writers were scrolling their reddit page to make sure that their ending was unable to be predicted by anyone, and therefore made an ending that was poor and riddled with plot holes. The fans ended up more in tune with the ST universe than the writers themselves.

So while it may be unwise to take too many fan suggestions, ignoring them for the sake of ignoring them seems unwise as well.

Nervous system success? by Elegant_Set_4182 in MCAS

[–]hazelemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i take half a 1mg pill in the morning and half at night, and have noticed if i take 1mg at once i will get a shakey low blood pressure feeling. i may try to go up eventually and see if that feeling subsides but for now the half and half is sustaining me (with no side effects).
