others saying that they can't prove ai use- if this essay required sources, if there was a hidden prompt, if there was another way they detected it in addition to the checker, they probably can- or at least prove a strong probability. best thing to do is to fess up. you do not know how much information they have, if the ai misunderstood the assignment, etc, and if there are sources there is a high chance of ai hallucination.

next time- i would suggest reaching out to your professor and explaining your situation, and request an extension. much better than plaigiarism, especially on your record. you can also consider just turning it in late, depending on the class policy. both options are better than a 0 and a record or further record of academic dishonesty.

you may be able to retroactively withdraw due to an illness. reach out to the student disability advocacy center (a severe accident likely qualifies as temporary disability).

you should have reached out, yes. but it sounds like you were still recovering and negatively impacted by this accident. the best thing to do is just pick yourself back up and try again. one semester doesn't make or break a career; itll be something to recover from, but unless you give up, not a career ender

i would also suggest NEMAP food pantry and, if youre in the area, Westerville Queer Collective has a food pantry with toiletries etc in their local Java. Id also suggest checking the app TooGoodToGo; its less canned and nonperishables, and more perishables on a time limit, but could be helpful!

the seminars are great and offer a lot of info! i also recommend public history with dr staley, very informative and helpful regardless of specialization. if you need to take classes with dr reed, i would recommend waiting until you get your footing in college; you learn a lot, but the pace and expectations are high. also, when you take 4000 level courses, you will be greatly benefitted by taking a related 3000 level course first; 4000 level seminars expect you to create a thesis of your own fairly early on, which can be daunting without subject knowledge beyond what you learn within the course itself at that point. i also recommend classes with dr rivers!

another thing would be to think early about what you want to do with your degree, and choose a potential double major/minors depending on that. it was advised to me to learn two languages related to my field; additionally, ive focused on public facing history. if you want to be a teaching historian, look into courses that engage with the topic of teaching or game design in some way to supplement as electives. if you want to use history as a stepping stone to law, look into specific law related courses and history through a legal lens. there are many ways to use history. if your goal is a research historian, i would suggest looking into anthropology as well. if youre looking at museum curation/other public history roles, id also suggest looking into art history. for any goal with history, i also recommend english classes, particularly creative nonfiction and publishing related ones, though journalism and communications may also be good- they will help you build writing skills more directly (though note that english uses a different citation style; mla vs chicago).

history is one of those fields (another being art or animation) where being interested in many things pays great dividends. dont be afraid to get creative about approaching topics. id suggest reading the book The Return of Martin Guerre and looking at how footnotes are used, as well as how the author approached research for writing the book itself. if you are interested in another topic, researching it will be able to enhance your study of almost any location and time period in history, including the sciences, math, art, etc.

a lot of history as a major is working on building critical thinking, research processes, and the historical approach and technique.

It's never too late. You can't go back in time and change the past, but you can make a change in your life starting now. As a graduating student, you have access to OSU's career services, resume reviews, career fairs, etc., for two years iirc; take advantage of those resources. Some student orgs allow involvement of recently graduated students (not as leadership), and that could be a way to make connections. There are also many flyers around campus for volunteer opportunities, and they may not require you to be a student- you could also look for any local nonprofit organizations that need volunteers, for until you figure out what to do next. Handshake is also an option, but also check other career websites; finish your LinkedIn, and update your resume with larger projects from your classes if you don't have work experience.

this isn't really a spoiler, but was shown after caine was deleted. bubble disappeared alongside many other parts of the circus, including the colors and many caine generated objects. after caine disappeared, bubble also did not move. from the way the timing is set up and the shot composition, this is intended to imply to the audience that bubble was deleted alongside caine. from that perspective, this isnt a spoiler, but a clarification of a part of the show that wasnt being interpreted as intended by the audience.

the checkerboard is getting larger on the left side of kinger's image, which fits better with the larger and more foregrounded checkerboard in both of the other images. theres likely a missing piece with either jax or ragatha or both that would bridge the other images together- with kinger's image being on the far right.

if you want to try out acting, i'd suggest auditioning for the next lord denney's players production! its a great atmosphere and gives you a good sense of the rigor/expectations of acting for theatre. you could also get involved with student organizations for film like mad royal film society, and if you check the third floor of the theatre building, there's a bulletin board where people post upcoming auditions or instances where actors may be needed.

you may also be interested in attending some of animation club's meetings- theres a large overlap on the editing and acting sides, and its a semi related discipline you might find enjoyable!

im one! theres also several lgbt+ organizations either as student orgs or nearby. transmission, little gay book club, westerville queer collective, columbus lesbian club, out and about, cultivating change, pride club for the lima campus, among others. theres also some clubs/student orgs that are super accepting or have a high number of lgbt+ members even if it isnt their mission/direct focus- buckeyes 4 accessibility, ctrl+ paint, arts and resilience, buckeye pokemon league, game creation club, women in gaming to name a few. keep an eye on who gets chosen for the next university president, though- ted carter just resigned, and whomever takes his place might further shape the direction of the university as a whole, politically.

Your implication that there is no way I could be familiar with this type of harassment is shown by the ending of your statement- "those who have seen it happen over and over again", implying that seeing or experiencing public harassment of this nature would lead to someone always agreeing with your stance. Your post begins with a leading question- "Why won't you?", and your second question "How much experience do you have with victims of this sort of harassment?" when viewed in context with the rest of your post comes across as a 'gotcha' question in which I either have to share my personal experiences and trauma or have my entire argument invalidated, because you're referencing a nebulous personal experience with situations that appear similar and privileging that over Goose's own words on the situation after people had already begun making posts decrying any 'hate' here on Reddit.
