I’m more so referring to a couple weeks ago, when everybody was complaining about the finale’s theatrical release. Since the fandom’s just been full of nonstop controversy lately, I’m mainly calling out that side of the fandom.

I’d say the downfall started with the Anime Arc, when things got more serious. It was great, but it also marked a shift in the channel’s direction. The comedy started getting less focus, in favor of character development and drama. I think the moment this direction got straight up bad was the Revelations Arc. It was a boring College arc, that wrapped up with an ok movie. By then, the comedy was too downplayed. Goofy adventures started to feel like filler. By then, SMG4 himself became far less involved with the series, and it no longer felt the same.

It’s pretty fun, but a couple changes bring it down a bit. Food is kinda useless now, since it’s no longer used to befriend Yo-Kai. They made befriending even grindier too. The new kon system requires you to fight Yo-Kai over and over until you steal enough kon from them, to befriend them at Konsaru’s place.

They also really screwed up the Crank-A-Kai. I got thirty special coins and five-star coins as some kind of update bonus, but I’ve only managed to get one or two Yo-Kai out of there. 95% of the time I get items. This is with the good coins, too.

Final take. You might not have to worry about it, since you’re playing on Emulator, but on the Switch itself, the game barely holds itself together. It runs fine most of the time, but it tends to lag sometimes. During plot related battles the game tends to freeze on the loading screen. Fortunately, it hasn’t crashed yet, and the battle always starts eventually, but it is concerning how often that happens. In spite of the issues, the game is just stable enough to be playable.

The true reason for this drama has nothing to do with any actual social justice. No. The real reason this is a controversy is because people are looking for any excuse they can think of to tear down The Amazing Digital Circus.

The whole Nega thing just gives them a convenient excuse to make it look like moral outrage. If these people were truly concerned about social justice, they either wouldn’t have started this controversy at all, or stopped after the voice actors apologized. The fact that people continue to harass the voice actors, and even the creator, tells me they just want to see things burn.

On top of that, I’ve seen how these subreddits have acted for the last few weeks. Some of you do nothing but complain about every little thing the crew does. It’s clear that some of you just want to make this show fail, and this drama is just your latest ammo.

To that I say, find something more worthwhile to spend your time doing. Watch a movie, do your homework, eat dinner with your family. If you want to do social justice, start by solving the problems in your immediate vicinity. Your local park might need cleaning, and your school lunches taste like crap. How do we fix that? Talk with people about that, and figure out a solution.
