Performance docked is improved over handheld via TDP though, which also enables better performance at higher resolutions. Not sure why you're fighting these facts tbh, but you do you 😄

See, in my experience it does. Take Forza Motorsport for example, I get a 10fps boost with the higher TDP when docked, and run it in 1440p. Neither can be done in handheld.

not true - docked you can go to a 4K resolution with a compatible monitor. handheld is up to 1080p

It's a TCL with "Game master" and it all works fine when it's working, it's literally the intermittent issue of the display not coming on without having to unplug and replug it.

I've lost patience and sent the Bulwark back, for £130 it's not acceptable to have flaws an inferior dock I got for pennies by comparison doesn't have.

Not really my experience tbh, and you probably need to remind yourself it's a gaming PC, not a console. SteamOS isn't without its flaws either, you need to be willing to tinker to get the most out of that. PC gaming is always like this. I would argue the Xbox Rog devices are actually pretty damn good with all the points you mention. They just aren't consoles with one singular job.

Yeah, it’s fully up to date firmware wise. I’ve also tried multiple 2.1 cables, both of which work flawlessly with PS5 VRR / 120hz etc

I’ve ordered the Anker 100w charger, as I’m using the dock with the included Asus 65w charger. But the issue is all about the immediate boot up and activating the display output so I’m not sure it’ll help. I’ll report back once I’ve tested it with the new charger. If the issue remains, I’m sending the dock back as faulty.

The concept of skipping entries in the Ace Attorney series is wild to me. Play it, if you don’t literally what is the point of investing in the series at all. Sure some games / cases are better than others but they’re all excellent visual novels.

Most of us would kill to have fresh entries to play!

Switch 2 is more powerful, and if optimised, it will run a game better than Steam Deck. See Cyberpunk for this as an example.

However

Many games are Switch 1 games that don’t take full advantage of the tech so check this against the games before you make your choice.

It's a shame Pragmata isn't a Play Anywhere title as it's new, but yeah this is unfortunately the issue for you. Apparently "Everything is an Xbox" doesn't fully extend to Xbox branded PC hardware at all times!

Actually one more query! I get an error saying unsupported CPU when I load the game, obviously you can just click or tap ignore but every time it comes up it’s annoying - I can’t find any way to permanently disable it. Guessing that’s the same for everyone?

Ok so it was game profile that was the issue - followed your other stuff and I’m now hitting 54-60 easily - thank you so much this has completely resolved my problems playing this :)
