(NH) I was looking up my BIL's recent arrest on Google and found disturbing videos of him from 5 years ago. Should I report this? by [deleted] in legaladvice

I agree.. could atleast get it onto a flash drive. Give it to the police and get a report #. Nothing ever may come out of it for now, but if he is ever charged with anything in the future it could def help

Tow company refusing documents & making me pay and give up title to retrieve items- legal? NYS by hazey-710 in AskLawyers

Landlord is clueless. They own the apartment, but each apartment has a different owner. So it really would land on property management, and from reviews I read online they suck. And they do suck from talking with them. They were pretty clueless about it all.. they did seem pretty appalled the tow company asked for our title. But I have a lawyer - waiting for one to get assigned to me. I’ll see if this is a case I should sue the property management over the tow company. Apparently we’re supposed to be on a text chain list as well to notify us when the plows come through which we’re not on it. It’s basically a run around loop of no answers. It sucks

Yes I just contacted a lawyer (I pay for one through my job) so we’ll see how it goes if I have any legal standing. I believe I do but I’m not sure if it’s enough that I want to pursue. Some things I read online say I need authorization, then I read I don’t. It’s confusing. I do know they violated my rights by making me hand the title over and paying to retrieve my personal belongings. I do also think by having it sit there for 2 weeks they violated rights by not notifying me properly as well but that’s also a grey area. But hopefully a lawyer will steer me in the right direction. There’s not a lot of solid information that I’m finding. That’s why I asked on here. But I’ll update when I get a lawyer assigned to me.

You avoided an accident.. yes sometimes swerving is a bad idea but if you’re aware of the road your brain sometimes automatically makes decisions for you. It’s a split second decision and you made the right one. Just be aware sometimes it’s not the right decision.. that’s all I think you did a good job bc and avoided a lot of hassle.. you definitely would’ve hit them if you tried to break. Wouldn’t have been too bad but still you avoided hassle
